Audi Scammed a young 34 Entreprenue and they continue to take advantage of me continuously.  They will not help they will not stand behind there certified car.  They scammed me by liying, tricking, and in the end stealing my money.  I will not stop going after them until this is made right.

Dear Audi Leadership,

I could not have been more excited when I bought my 2009 Audi A5 from your DFW Audi dealership.  Unfortunately my excitement has turned to disappointment and frustration.  The entire experience has become terrible.  The simple fact is I was sold a car that was 100% certified by your dealership. After trying to transfer the car to my business partner in California the car had to be returned because it could not be registered in California due to previous frame damage from an accident.  This fact is undisputable and can be proven.

My purpose for this letter is to resolve the issue by asking for you to live up to your brand reputation and brand promise by taking back the car and returning my original investment.  I have tried to handle this situation with John Dudas at DFW Audi and it is now time for you to step in and help me.

Like my request in this letter, I have tried to remain reasonable throughout this situation.  Since driving away with my car in December of 2011 I have had it back in the dealership for repairs 5 times.  As an entrepreneur operating four separate companies, my time is valuable.  This process has used up both my time and my patience.

Clearly, my relationship with Jeff at the DFW dealership has diminished over this period based on my frustration and his inability and unwillingness to resolve my issues with the car. Now that I am forced to turn to DFW Audi dealership to resolve my problem, Jeff is no longer with DFW Audi.  The last visit I was directed to John Dudas who would solve my issue. That is why I am turning to you.  I know that you will want to take care of my problem by having the dealership live up to your standard of service and customer care.

Here are some basic facts:

When moving the car (via carport) to California for my business partner Mike Smith, the California inspection failed due to frame damage. Location and information that refused to pass the car for inspection was Car max located at 7980 Auto Drive Riverside, CA 92504. After the car failed Mike, knowing that the car was part of your 100% certification promise, took the car to two other dealerships:  Walters Audi in Riverside then to Toyota of Orange, CA.  All three dealerships said the same thing and all recommended returning this car to Audi.   After putting the car back on carport to returning the car to me in Dallas, we have come to find out more about the history of the car.  The Audi was in an accident in California.  It was moved to the Audi dealership in Colorado before being moved to the DFW Audi here locally.  One can only suspect that it was moved because it would not be able to pass inspection in other states like California.  None-the-less, it should never have been sold as 100% certified.

Chronology of repairs at DFW Audi:

Immediately after taking ownership of the car there was a problem with the handling of the car.   Even on the test drive, I was told the head shake was due to the fact that it had not been driven for some time.  I was told that the tires had been sitting too long and there was a flat spot.  A short time after my purchase, I returned with the car because it was shaking.  They loaned me another car while they were working on my car. When I picked it up, they said they fixed it. As soon as I was on the highway I could immediately feel the shake and it was not fixed.

The second time I brought the car in to the dealership they gave me another loaner car. Again they said they fixed the problem.  It was not better.

The third time I brought it into the dealership they did not have any loaner cars so they rented me a car while my car was being repaired.  This time they replaced the wheels to fix the problem.

As you can decipher, no one was at the time or is now disputing the car has a problem.  What is not being said it that this car had more damage than reported and was in a previous accident that was not told to me when I purchased the car.  I came to the Audi dealership primarily due to your 100% certification program.  I am sure you are also disappointed by the lack of disclosure and how your program failed in my case.

When I brought this to their attention I said I wanted to return the car. I was not happy with the car it had a shake, a miss, had been repainted and it also had black speckles melted into the paint everywhere. I was being told they would not take the car back because the sale was final and there was nothing I could do.  This was a slap in the face.  I had to accept the car that was still not 100% and I had no reasonable option from Audi.

I then began my wait for the oil change so I could have them address the miss that I had also noticed. A miss that was barely felt but it would miss when pulling at a low RPM not a high RPM.  It was most noticeable at 80MPH at the low end of 6th gear. I waited until I had my first oil change to bring this up.  The service manager told me they found nothing and everything was ok with the car.  I said that it was not ok and asked if they drove it at 80 mph when the miss was most noticeable.  The service tech spoke to me like I was a young punk kid and said “you shouldn’t be doing over 80 MPH”.  I was a little in shock didn’t know how to take his insulating and ridiculous comment.

Once again I took the slap in the face and left the dealership. Two weeks later I found myself stranded on the side of the road as error codes starting going off and the car would barely fire.  I had 25% power as it spit and sputtered to the nearest gas station.  I sat in my car researching the error code to see what the issue was and what my options were.  I found some videos of other Audi’s having the same problems.  After letting the car cool the error message stayed active but the car did fire and run semi normal with a much bigger miss pattern then before.

I returned the car to Audi and was told the problem was a spark plug all along.  The spark plug was shown to me to my surprise. I questioned why they would not have been changed going through the certified inspection.  Still today the car has yet another miss and still shakes. I spend $2,200 dollars to have the entire car clay bared to have all black speckles removed.  The key ignition has broken as it will not engage or lock the key in once started.

After taking the car back one final time to tell them the car was not able to be registered in the State of California due to frame damage.  I expected to get a reasonable offer for the car so we could all walk away from this disaster.  Once again it ended with the biggest slap in the face yet.  I was offered a lousy trade-in deal so DFW Audi could be sure to resell it to another unsuspecting customer and not lose money.

My reasonable request:

I own an e-commerce powersports product retail company and understand how unreasonable some dissatisfied customers can become.  They often use social media sites like BBB.com, RipoffReport.com, YouTube videos and other sites to cause harm to our reputation before even exploring reasonable solutions with my customer service staff.  I have chosen to reach out to you directly, knowing how important your 100% certified pre-owned program is to you.

What I am asking is more than reasonable.  I am sure, after hearing what I have been through, you will take action to resolve my issues by having them take back the car and return my money.  Please help me with this unfortunate issue. I can’t take any more slaps.  I have had enough.

Thank you for your help.
