We had our carpet installed 08/11/2009. My husband told the sales person that we were willing to spend as much on the padding as we would our carpet. When they arrived we saw the padding was a very thin cheap padding. My husband told the installer this, but according to the insaller it was their best. We allowed them to go ahead. Not much longer after our carpet was full of hard places through out.
We called and 2 other installers arrived and told us this was the wrong padding. Well to make a long story short we had our carpet pulled back up, installer tore carpet up quickly which resulted in runners in the commercial grade carpet. They began to use a hot glue gun to glue fibers back into the runners which resulted in total failure. The padding has now began bunch under the 3 year old carpet. We have tried to get help from Empire today but to no avail. They ripped us off.
