On April 2015, I finally received disability after 9 years of fighting.  I still owed back child support for two of my children which Friend of the Court in Saginaw County Michigan immediately sent a letter to Social Security alerting them of my past due obligation.  Half of my Disability pay was sent to the Friend of the Court at Michigan SDU, PO Box 30351 Lansing MI 48909-7851.  All payments were received as sent.  I had back pay owed to me and after much fighting to find out where it was and get it, I received half of my back pay on Dec. 1, 2015.  The other half was sent to Friend of the Court due to the court order even though I didn't owe that much.  On Dec. 8, 2015, I went to our local Friend of the Court office in Saginaw Michigan and paid off the remaining balance out of the back pay that I received.  We received a letter on Dec. 18, 2015 from the Friend of the Court office in Saginaw MI stating that all child support obligations were complete.  The letter was also sent to Social Security Disability for them to stop taking Child Support payments out of my disability check.  A payment of $406.00 was sent from disability to Friend of the Court on Dec. 3, 2015 and Jan. 3, 2016.  On Feb. 1, 2016 a payment of $116.50 was also sent to the Friend of the Court from Disability.  At this point, keep in mind that Disability had sent half of my back pay, full child support payment in Dec.2015 and Jan. 2016 and a payment of $116.50 in Feb. 2016.  On Feb. 2, 2016, I went to our local Friend of the Court office in Saginaw MI to find out why I had not received my refund of monies paid since I had paid off my child support obligation on Dec. 8, 2015.  I went with all paperwork showing exactly what Social Security said they had paid them along with what we knew they had been paid.  Friend of the Court staff had no idea what I was talking about.  The staff person assigned to talk with me had no idea what I was talking about, so a manager was called in, her name was Ann, and she made some phone calls and said she would contact us as soon as someone had called her back.  A week later I recieved a call back from Ann saying she had put a call into Social Security and Friend of the Court in Lansing, MI.  She said she got a call from Social Security saying the money had been in a distribution center in Chicago IL and that it had all been sent to the Friend of the Court office in Lansing MI.  She was still waiting to talk to someone in Lansing to find out where the money is.  As of today, Feb. 25, 2016, I still have not heard anymore from Ann or received any payment of owed money from Friend of the Court and/or Social Security Disability.  Keep in mind, all payments send to Friend of the Court in Lansing MI were received and recorded.  No payments have been recorded since then even though we have proof that they were paid.  Where is my money????

Spoke with Social Security Today

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, February 25, 2016

I called the Social Security office today to see if they knew what address the money was sent to.  I was told by Vincent that the money was sent to the Saginaw FOC office.  That is the same office that has no idea where the money is or that they even received it.  Was told by Vincent that the money was probably sent to the Michigan Child Support Disbursement office. Went to the MiChild website and find that they received no money after the $406 on Dec. 1 and the money I paid them on Dec. 8, 2015.  According to Vincent, any money sent to FOC after paid in full goes to disbursement center for 60 days.  If no other claims on the money, it is sent back to Social Security Disability and they then return the funds to my account.  Sixty days was Feb. 20, 2016 from the original letter sent.  No one still has any idea where my money is!!
