GC Services Employers Edge Identity Fraud? Collection Fraud? Hostile and threatening Denver, Colorado

I received a call from these people.  Based upon searches they appear to be debt collectors.  The woman who called opened trying to get personal information from me confirmation from me.  I was researching them on the web as I spoke with her.  I asked what this was about and she would not give any information until I "proved" my identity.  Since that was not going to happen to a stranger, we went round until the supervisor who was monitoring the call jumped on and got more aggressive with me.  He began threatening that they would report me so the governement could take action against me.  He told someone to hang up. Since he didn't direct it I am not sure if he was talking to the lady or to me.  She tried one query asking if the last 4 of my ssn were xxxxx (she did actually use 5 digits not 4).  I figured that it was better to tell them no since none of what they had was correct.  That pretty much did it for me. I hung up. I am still not sure  if this was a phishing scam or they were looking for someone else.   I called the number on my CallerID back to see if it was a redirect or bogus number. They answered as the same.  So that is where they are.

Hopefully the negative answer will keep them from calling me again.  Either way,  Beware! IF they are phishing scammers, don't give them anything.  If they are debt collectors, I still wouldn't give them anything to give them the satisfaction of getting paid.
