My family walked into this store on Friday evening. We headed to the back when my daughter was told to "slow down" mind you she was walking. Then my children were browsing in the toy area when the same store manager approached them and told them "they must be with a parent". I was standing next to them. By that time I had realized that almost everything in the store was over priced so we decided to leave. My son was holding the door open for me and the baby to walk out,The same store manager looked at him and said "close the door ,the air conditioning is on.

After securing my children in the vehicle with my husband I returned back into the store to get the corporate telephone number. She informed me she was the store manager and let them know that she had to reprimand my children three times. My children were perfectly behaved,this lady is crazy and she is scaring children.

I can totally understand her getting on to the chidren. Why would she say that he needed to be with a parent if you were there beside him? Don't make since, maybe you were close by looking at clothes or something. I am sorry for seeming to harsh but I can understand frustration with kids and usually no one even cares to say anything to them. I have been in Goodwill numerous times when kids are by themselves. This lady and I had a conversation at the drs office, she actually works for Goodwill and has had to tell kids that are being very bad to behave or to get with a parent which is how it should be. You must have been a little far away for her to actually say something to your boy. I have walked into goodwill wayyy too many times and seen kids making messes with toys, etc and parents doing nothing about it. Something should be done and is often not.

If however it happened as you say it did then yes you should call corporate. Kids sholuld not be bullied but parents need to have dicipline also. Way to many parents have no discipline skills and take up for there children no matter what. Parents should hold there kids hand or let them ride in a buggy. They do not need to be running in the store either. It really annoys me when I see that happening!

Some people are also more strict on kids which may seem unfair and esp for no reason at all but why would someone want to pick on your kid for no reason. Maybe she did, who knows.. But think about that!

That is really not a "rip off" tho, there is not a need to file that with this website.

I reported that the Gateway West store manager was very rude to myself and my children. She approached my children on three occasions to reprimand them in front of me. My children are very respectful and well behaved. She reprimanded my son for holding the door open for me and my baby. He exact words were "you are letting the air conditioning out side". This is harassment this woman should not be working with the public and should have a Psychological evaluation.
