After giving my two weeks notice, I had my last paycheck witheld and the only reason i received from Robert Mandel was I refused jobs. I never refused A job. I've been sent to multiple jobs with no prior experience on the equipment just Interstate can receive port to port pay of close to $350.00 if not more from the customer.

They screw thier customers out of money as well as thier employees. The last check was supposed to buy food for my family. I explaining that to Robert and begged him to have Byron Call me. I never have received that call. As far as this Chris guy in Alabama. I was told of him. So Byron is straight out lying about him too.

JOHNATHON CROFT DOES NOT GET IT! BUT HERES THE CONCLUSION

AUTHOR: Interstate Fleet Services - ()

For the record, you can get paid for EXACTLY the hours you worked for every single road call you accepted. If you haven't been paid the hours you worked (Which I am sure you have, but just in case I'm wrong) come to the office TODAY and get whatever is due to you.

It takes 2 minutes to pull the records to put it in black & white to show you on paper what jobs you took and what we paid you. The same way we can show you what you turned down and what excuse you gave our dispatchers.

However if your complaint is not getting paid for 40 hours despite you turning down more jobs you accepted your last week here then keep complaining if that makes you feel better because theres no way your getting a penny more than you worked for and earned!

Byron Tarlton still doesn't get the point

AUTHOR: Jonathan Croft - ()

POSTED: Sunday, October 06, 2013

Obviously I can go back and forth because I've seen a lot of issues your company has as far as your treatment to employees and customers. Lets start with saying that my complaint was the 3rd exact complaint made by two other former employees of Interstate Fleet services. I have always learned that the first time can't be avoided, the second time is just a coincidence, but with the third time it is an issue that needs to be addressed. I'm sure that there are far more former employees out there who just hasn't seen this web site yet.

Now, You think I'm “upset”. You're wrong. I'm disappointed. That the notion of me getting my due pay is never going to happen. I know you could care less that the money you owe me has set me into a financial hardship that will take me at least 2 more months to set straight You just sit there saying you are “wishing me well”. Being a man and paying me is the only way you can wish me well.

Apparently you don't have a better imagination to make up more “ignorant and degrading” remarks about me because you can't get any facts straight about anything. So I will conclude with saying this; “I'll pray for you and your family and that our paths cross again soon”.

We can go back and forth all day long. You seem to be quite upset and your starting to get ignorant with degrading remarks, so before I lower myself to that, I'm going to conclude my responses and wish you well.

Byron Tarlton from Interstate Fleet Services can't tell the truth if he tried

AUTHOR: Jonathan Croft - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 04, 2013

Wow!! I mean Wow!! How is that after begging for a call from Byron that he could not have been a man about it and just simply called me back. He writes a huge rebuttal which obviously took longer then a phone call would have. Then flat out lies about me and my work ethics. My life's work ethics come from Scarface. "All you have in this world is your word and your balls. I don't break them for anyone!!!" The bs that Byron is slinging around is to discredit me and my work ethics. If need be, I'll be glad to furnish a long list of past employers that will attest to my work ethics starting with my 17+ years in the Army and PA Army National Guard. I might have had multiple jobs in my life but I have always given my 2 weeks notice and I worked my last 2 weeks without being late or absent. As a matter of fact I have missed 2 days of work in the last 15 years. I served my country in Afghanistan where we worked 7 days a week 12 hours a day for 10 months. I have always had a very strong work ethic.

Your memory does not serve you right because the time off I requested was well in advance. It was six hours for a wedding I was in. I received a call that morning at 6:56 am(not PM). After doing a call for this company and not getting home until 2:30am I was woken by dispatch, I was still half asleep and told them I was off. When I woke all the way up (less then 5 min later) I called back and apologized, then left for the job in Pennsauken, NJ. While on this job I had to try to weld a brake cylinder with a stick welder that wouldn't work. I didn't get home till 3:00pm that day. I had to be at the wedding at 4:00pm, I barely made it.  On Monday morning I receive a call from Robert saying he was "disappointed with me" for refusing a job. When I explained to him what had happened and told him to speak with the dispatcher to confirm, I didn't hear another word about it.

Now when I was hired I was told 40hrs no matter what you worked straight 40 hours that is all. Any time requested off was requested off thru Robert but never got past Robert. Both times I needed time off I spoke to a couple dispatchers the day before and was told that they were not aware of my requested time off.

I myself was called several times to drive more then an hour to go well out of my area (at least an hour and a half to a 3 and a half hour drive) to go on a call because the technicians in that area weren't answering their phones. Every time I was called I answered the phone. As a matter of fact I told your dispatchers to call my personal phone because the dollar store cell phone you provided couldn't get signal in a paper bag much less my house.

When I gave my two weeks which was not a regular work week i.e. Monday thru Friday, it was a Monday thru Sunday thing. Not only did I give the two weeks but I also gave an additional day adding up to a total of 15 days, that would be 3 work weeks by today's standards. I even walked into your office and shook your hand and said thank you for the opportunity to work here. If I had the "attitude" Byron was describing,I never would have shaken your and this complaint wouldn't have been written in the first place. As for the screwing over of the past employers, feel free to search the internet to see if I had EVER written anything about any other place I have worked for. You need to keep your facts straight. I never have been treated like this by any other company I have worked for. When leaving those companies, I got either a "good luck" and a hand shake or on a couple of occasions I got a farewell party. When I give my two weeks I keep my word and work the two weeks. I don't screw over the company I work for. Plus, I didn't start work with my new job till the 2nd of September. Why would I not make money till then. What I think is that you were insulted by the fact that the company I went to work for offered me close to $8.00 more per hour which is way more then you could ever have hoped to be able to pay any one working for you.

Your dispatchers didn't see any change in me or my attitude. You did after you took my last check. Nor, did I need to request time off to spend with my only daughter (according to you my only child) because in between most jobs I had more then enough time to spend with ALL 3 of my younger kids (I have 5 total). I don't need to make time for then. I make sure that I always have time for them.

There is no "Fleet Manager" there. You have Robert Mandel. Your HR/ Gofer. Who can't remember anything. So, this "commission" bs your trying to throw out there is just some more wool thrown over the eyes of some unsuspecting new employee. I was never informed of a "commission" based pay. Stop lying about thing that were never put on the plate from the beginning.

You can upload a check. It's called scan it then attach it. But what checks I did receive from you were direct deposited with the exception of this fabled last check that I never received. It's an electronic trail that CAN be uploaded. I hope you have a copy of this so called last check because the labor board WILL be looking for it during their investigation.

You lied about me and tried to say I refused jobs. But I didn't. I don't need to flat out lie and tell outlandish stories about people to make me sleep better. Byron and his company took money from a hard working veteran trying to support his family and put food on his table for is his 8 years old son, 2 year and 8 month old daughters. (Not just one daughter). Get your story straight before you try to slander some ones name.

Just one final note. Has any one noticed that he had nothing to say about screwing over his customers by #1. Providing substandard technicians for the job that needs to be done. #2 Making good hardworking people pay for services that were never provided. #3 Not getting his technicians to the break down site in a the time quoted to them. #4 Making your employees face angry drivers because of a 3 to 4 hour wait. Ect. Ect. Ect.

Response from Interstate Fleet

AUTHOR: Interstate Fleet Services - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 04, 2013

It's really unfortunate that a person can find the time to file a complaint online that are so far from the truth. Our policy is simple and we make every employee aware of it the day that they start working at our company. You work a job where your On-Call. We pay a paycheck of a 40 hour work week providing you are available when we contact you. If you turn down jobs without having the decency / common courtesy to notify our dispachers "Prior" to us accepting jobs because we are under the asumption that your are available because you never notified us that you was not available, which makes us now either obligated to do the job or have to waste our customers time by us having to reroute the next closest technician, your pay is converted to commision. This is the reason why at least 95% of our compeditors only pay their technicians commision where if you don't work you dont get paid which now gives employees something else to complain about because they don't have a steady pay check so they feel the need to hop around from company to company assuming things will get better. What's never taken into consideration is to simply add up the hours that you work every week. Most techs only work 15-30 hours a week, but here...... they still get a 40 hour guaranteed paycheck. If techs need time off the clock, how hard is it to simply pick up the phone and let us know. I mean please correct me if I'm wrong but not only is every employer due that communication, but it's just the right thing to do.

Now I remember Johnathon C. as an employee and from what I remember is that his performance was fine until he gave us his two weeks notice to resign. What I have noticed and I am sure most employers would agree is 50-60% of employees in their final two weeks develop a "I dont care because I'm leaving attitude" with companies they work for which is exactly what Johnathon did. I see this daily with applicants applying here. Not wanting to give 2 weeks notice to current employers, them telling me their employers is screwing them over, how their employer is such a ripoff, etc, which always raises a red flag to me because some are known companies, some even nationally reconized to us all in every industry.

We contacted Johnathon several times in his last two weeks of working and dispatchers seen an immediate change in his call acceptance. The first week he took 4 jobs and turned down 4 which gave him a total of 13.5 hours worked but despite that he was still was granted an entire pay check of 40 hours. The last Saturday before his departure, he was contacted for a job and he stated to us that he needed time off to spend time with his daughter. Though he didnt notify us still, we still honored it. We asked him when he would be available. He stated 5pm. Now we did not make a big deal of it because its a weekend and it was slower than normal plus we had plenty of coverage from nearby techs that was just coming back on from time off so we agreed to it. At 6:38pm we contacted Johnathon to go on a job and he told the dispatchers. "I can't do this job. I've been out all day with my daughter and I'm tired". The dispatcher notified him that this would be reported to the fleet manager whuch it was. The fleet manager notified Johnathon that Monday morning that because he turned down another job that weekend, that we was immediately converting his pay to commision for the last week of his employment which we did and intern, it landed him a paycheck that was 50% less than the 40 hour week he was originally being paid. He called Robert and asked as if he was not notified, and was reminded again that he was paid on commision for the last week for the jobs he chose to accept.

If there was a link to update a copy of his final check that was paid to him and cashed, I would post it right here for everyone to see. Him stating that he was not paid was a blatent lie. He was paid for exactly the jobs he chose to accept his final week of working at our company.
