Linebarger Goggin Blair &Sampson,LLP Unusual letter for ticket received over 20 years ago that I contacted Bexar Co. about and was told my tickets were disposed of while locked up for something else. San Antonio Texas

Received a letter in the mail from Linebarger Goggin Blair & Sampson, LLP, stating that I owed money to Bexar County for a ticket that is over 20 years old. I dealt with Bexar Co. by mail while locked up in 2001 and 2002, afraid that the traffic tickets I received prior to being locked up would hinder my release. At the time I wrote to Bexar Co. was even 10 years subsequent to getting the tickets in the first place. Bexar Co. sent me paperwork and a letter that said, basically, that I didn't have to woory about them any more.

I threw away all of that paperwork a long time ago but was curious that I received this letter since I had already dealt with Bexar Co., by mail, a long time ago. On the first page of yahoo, when entering the lawfirm on the letterhead that I got I saw this site and decided to file a report of my own even though I can't do any checking with Bexar Co. until tomorrow because on the back of the letter , just above where states the amount due, it says "PLEASE RETURN THIS ENTIRE STATEMENT WITH YOUR PAYMENT". Red flag for me since, usually, there is a perforated portion to tear off and send with any payment, not that statement about returning the whole letter. It is definitely suspicious.

Tomorrow I'll check with Bexar Co. about this but I'm fairly certain that this is a scam and someone is using "scare tactics" to get people to send them money based on public records, fraudulently. I'll write an addendum to this after I talk with Bexar Co. but I'm pretty sure what I'll find out.
