This is a shady RESUME WRITING business. The site offers a 1 time fee of about $2.95 for you to build a resume. LiveCareers makes it appear that is the only fee that you will be paying but that is inaccurate. Monthly unauthorized fees appear totalingf $34.95 monthly as a RECURRING charge.
The issue is that LiveCarreer is making a career of ripping the consumer off. First of all the resume cannot be saved or downloaded. In my case my 15 year old son did this as a 1 time class project this is costing me approximately $180.00 in charges from May through September. Then the customer service had the nerve to say that I needed to cancel the service within 14 days. Where was that micro nano print?
The customer service is inept and the business should be fined for deceptive business practices.

Although a nice story, it is incorrect. The resume that we created was for a 15 year old. It was a 1x resume and it was not clear as you stated that the credit card would be repeatedly charged. There would be no reason to repeatedly print or suppor a resume for a child that has NO job experience. Also, I am not the only person that has written this complaint or failed to see your fine print. Your Hot Shot customer service was contacted and they said that they would review just how ridiculous it was to charge for a 1 page basic non-history for a learning disabled child. I suppose it makes you feel good to charge almost $200 for nothing.... If you were reputable you would refund the money minus the $2.95 but you are not reputable and you have non existent service nor do you care about your customers. I remain steadfast in considering your operation a shady rip-off. If you were legitimate you would not have a revolving fee that requires people to shut it down. The $2.95 is a rouse and it is a deceptive business practice. People do not need your service... Staples is more customer focused.

Dear Rocket001,
Thanks for your comments.
The subscription that you paid for $2.95 is good for 14 days and you can cancel at any time. We are very clear that there is an auto-renewing feature and that if you don’t cancel your subscription within the initial 14 day period your subscription will auto renew at the monthly rate of $34.95. We state this on the sales page, on the payment page when you enter your payment information, on the order confirmation page and again give you this information when we send you your payment confirmation to the e-mail address that you use when you signed up.
Our paid services include printing, emailing and downloading your resume or cover letter. If you were unable to download the resume on your end; our customer service representatives are more than willing to walk you through and even send the resume to your email address.
We give you multiple ways to cancel your subscription: By calling our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week; by live chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section to avoid incurring a monthly charge.
Best regards,
LiveCareer
