We were given the opportunity to purchase a car that was financed through Lobel Finacial (aka: Lobel Finance)
From the beginning our loan was approved for one amount at 39 months then changed after contracts were signed to a larger down payment and and changed to 36months. We have made all our payment for both the car loan and for our auto insurance.

Approx 3months after our loan, they began sending letters stating we did not have insurance, we quickly called our agent and Lobels finding were incorrect.  We sent in proof of insurance as well as our agent sent the information.  The problem was fixed (temporarily)  At the end of June 2011 we began receiving letters again about the same issue.  We once again had our agent send in information.  Lobel repeatately informed us that they didnt receive the paperwork, although we had receipts showing the fax transmission went through. My agent called in and stayed on the phone with them. Again problem fixed, so we thought.

We received harassing phone calls 20-30 per day regarding the insurance once again this went on from July into August 2011.  We had gotten behind in our payment and were trying to pay before it became 30days late, however Lobel would not accept our normal payment and wanted the additional amount for lack of insurance.  This is now troubling us, so my agent again called to resolve.  After spending over 45 minutes on the phone, they finally stated they received the documents.  Our agent called us and stated to us, something seems shady here, Be Careful!

We were then called to make the payment.  My husband authorized the regular payment, they stated they still wanted the additional monies.  They told him $437.00 when our regular payment was $368.00 - He said he would not authorize the additional unless they could prove we DID NOT have auto insurance.  They took out the payment and tried to take $444.00 per my bank records, I received this info on August 30th.  This amount was not approved and did not clear my bank on Monday August 22nd.  We received a letter in the mail 4days later (August 26th)  stating we approved 437.00 - this was an UNTRUE statement.  It was too late in the day to call, after 7pm when I retrieved my mail.

On Monday August 29th they called to try to obtain payment again, letting me know that the check didnt clear the bank.  I advised them that they tried to take out too much, they stated that they needed full payment again.  We advised them that we were not paying the additional insurance fees, as this was a resolved issue.  They said that they are unable to accept anything lower than 437.00.  On Tuesday August30th at approx 5:20am they called my phone and knocked on my door stating they were there to pick up my car.

I called their office at 8am to be told I have to call back after 9:30am as that department is not in the office until that time.  I called at 9:45- was told that I have to call back after 11:30am - which I did again, only to be told to call back after 12:30.  Which I did AGAIN, finally got a rep on the phone who spoke to me and stated that the finance company didnt have any idea what the fee's where and they had to determine what we owed.  We finally received a call at 4:30pm with the fees.

Just guess what amount they were asking for: $368.00 for July and $368 for August and now $350.00 for The Repo fee.  I find it ironic that NOW they are okay with getting my regular payment, which is what we have been fighting for this entire time.  To make their case even weaker, we received our payment coupon for August and it shows past due payment of $333.00 and current payment due $368.00 dated August 26th.

If anyone is wanting to go after this company please get in touch with me at: (((email redacted))) I will be seeking a lawyer to take on this case. They messed with the wrong person! I am in the field of Marketing and Media Relations (SHAME ON YOU LOBEL)

My resolution here is to obviously get monies back that I had to pay out and hopefully stop all future crooked company practices by Lobel Financial aka: Lobel Finance

Lobel Financial Ripped me too..

AUTHOR: mima5683 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Here is my email address...mima5683@ymail.com I would love to follow up on your complaint against Lobel.

My name is Maureen and almost the same thing happened to us and our car was repoed after being late 41 days only.. Lobel would not accept a post dated payment that could be posted 2 days later . Funny thing though is that rep said prior to hanging up on me that the car would be repoed that same day (Tuesday) if we didn't make full payment, why was car repossessed 2 days later the same time frame I had asked for them to wait for payment. So in reality they could have waited.. Prior to the the rep hanging up on me she insisted she needed to speak to my husband and could not speak to me regarding account... but he was working..so that's why she hung up on me..  Mind you the same rep insisted on calling me approximately 20 times a day for the next few days. They called my husband 16 times in a row because he would not answer at work.  They would call up til 10:00pm and start by 6:45am and on my phone as well.but yet when I called back they could not speak to me without auth from my husband since I wasn't on account. Well he had given auth 3 months prior..If they could not speak to me regarding account , why did they insist on calling me then..We were never notified by certified mail or normal mail that car was up for repossession. Prior to the rep telling me that day. I  found a suit that was filed against Lobel from a number of consumers/customers for illegal collection practice violations.. At the end of the suit it read/stated that further violations made by Lobel to their customers would result in a $2500 charge per violation that were listed as part of the Suit..
