I had a crack in my basement wall. I decided to get a few estimates from different companies. Since I work in another state I had only limited time. MidAtlantic refused to come look at the crack unless I was going to be there. The other companies I requested estimates from were fine with coming to look at the crack for an estimate as long as an adult was there, allowing me to have my son(who is in his 20s) Be present. That should have been a red flag for me but I still had them come on a Saturday because I had to leave town the following day. When the technician arrived he refused to look at the crack and instead wanted to "sit down and talk".  He began asking me questions that I had already answered over the phone while making the appointment, Such as "what is the problem? how long is the crack? is the crack on the outside as well ? is there water leakage? etc. I explained that I was only getting estimates from different companies and do not like hard sells. I asked him to look at the crack and give me an estimate for repair. He said I was making him feel pressured, but finally agreed to look at the crack. After looking at it he gave me an estimate of 25,000 dollars to repair and waterproof it. My husband threw the packet and estimate in the trash as soon as he left.

The other company I called said cracks are a common problem, was willing to look at the crack without me being physically present since I work and live in another state. They gave me a quote of 1000 dollars for the same repair. He even told my son how to repair the crack ourselves using products from a hardware store.

Midatlantic kept calling me repeatedly. I didn't want to talk to them but finally picked up the phone. The person on the phone said the estimate was reviewed and was a little high. He proceeded to say that the company wanted to sit down with me AGIN and give me another estimate which would be more then a few hundred dollars less. I explained that I am in another state and could not do that. Then he said that they might make an exception and talk to me on the phone about it. I still haven't heard back and it is several days later.

Midatlantic Waterproofing was a big waste of time and was going to charge me 25 times what the other company was for the same work Stay away from this company if unless you want to get ripped off.
