Where were all the negative reports when we checked this company out? Last May I searched the internet and the Better Business Bureau for information on Modern Marketing Systems, and all searches brought no negative comments (except for 1 problem on the BBB which had been resolved). I even searched the Ripoff Report. Since then, I've found plenty of people who've fallen for their tactics lodging complaints on the internet!

Yes, we got snookered into paying for 27 sites at a cost of $3995 down and $3995 90 days after microsite inception (the day of build completion and upload to their servers). We also had the guarantee for a return of all the money we hadn't received back from Adsense ads by the inception date + 20%, and we also were called for the 2nd half and told that was for the marketing of the sites, as Lori was. I was curious about that, but there were still 9 months to make up the time and so we weren't too concerned.

We had hosting fees which would have kicked in at the 90 day period, but we never got billed for them. After the 90 days we started calling frequently to ask why we hadn't seen more happening with our sites, as they'd only made around $2 by 6 months. We were told our sites would be put on priority for more marketing and not to worry, as they'd "never" had to pay out on the refund.

At 8 months we were told we didn't have to pay the hosting fees, as the sites weren't performing well and it was "immoral to charge" under the circumstances. When they made more money we could start paying. How does one pay someone who tells you not to, and if I'd asked for confirmation we probably wouldn't have received it.

In the end, they changed the inception date; they rarely returned phone calls; during numerous phone calls to them we were told by the customer services reps. that they'd put our sites on high priority for updates and marketing, though we didn't see any changes or progress; we were told not to pay the hosting fees since the sites weren't performing well, that could come later; just over 8 months after the inception date we were told the company was going to replace our old sites with new ones that would perform better, which they didn't do; and last week, 11 months after the inception date, we received a hosting agreement, though the sites haven't performed any better than before.

In "talking" with Jim Ford, "Quality Management" Supervisor this week, 1. I was told we should have paid our hosting fees from the beginning, 2. I was wrong about the inception date, and when I read the guarantee to him he said he didn't like those things because they didn't cover every circumstance, 3. he implied that I was lying about the hosting fees conversation I had with his customer service rep. and concerning the fact that we never received a hosting agreement, 4. he was unreasonable, as Lori noted, and interrupted me several times, once to tell me a W.C. Fields joke and a 2nd time to tell me I reminded him of a "Philadelphia lawyer...", along with other slams and criticisms, 5. and, yes, we were at fault because we didn't pay the hosting fees from the date of inception and they then couldn't do any marketing for our sites so the sites couldn't make the money they would have otherwise. He said he now wanted to "forget the past" and give us another chance, and that's why he sent the new hosting agreement for the new sites.

NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!!

If there's ever a class action lawsuit on this company, I'd like to know about it!! There has to be enough people out there who've been taken by these crooks; I've seen more and more postings from victims every time I look. This is DEFINITELY a SCAM!!!!

AUTHOR: Kathy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 14, 2009

Rhoda, we are in the same shoes. We have filed a complaint against this company with the AZ Attorney General's office, and I encourage you - and every other person who has had this experience - to please file a complaint as well.

If the Attorney General gets enough complaints, the office may formally investigate the company. If someone does decide to take some legal action, how do we find them or get on board? From scouring the internet these last couple of months, it is more than evident that a lot of us have the very same story.

Surely we couldn't ALL have deliberately neglected hosting agreements? After spending $11,242 with them, do they truly believe that we would have neglected this?

Thanks for helping spread the word about your experiences, as painful as it is.

Again, everyone: Please, please, file with the Arizona Attorney General's office.
