I drove into this lot with smoke billowing out of my hood, my car was on it's last leg. I have no credit so I can't even get a cell phone financed. Last resort was this joke of a dealership. The big sign outside says " 500.00 DOWN AND YOU PICK " So first question that flew out of my mouth was, " So it's 500 down and you pick, huh?" The big huge fat guy that I suppose is the manager said, " No actually that's just a quirk to get people like you into our lot" First red flag popped up, but then I looked back at my smoking peice of crap car, and looked back at him, and asked him what foreign car, had less mileage on it, and was a stick, and good on gas, and I could afford. He pointed out a red nissan 200SX. No warranty, as is. I knew what I was getting into, mind you. I just didn't have much of a choice. I have to go to work. that's a given. I'm a single mom, and I needed a vehicle desperatly.

I looked at it, and it was closing time, so I had no choice but to leave and come back the next day. I drove to work that day and came back to the lot on my lunch break, took it for a small spin around the area, and came back. Nothing was wrong with the car. Sounded great starting up, the inside was spiffy and clean, the outside appeared in great condition.

I came back inside the place, and told him I'd take it, but I wanted to take it to a mechanic, I offered to leave my car ( the smoking one ) on the lot, but I'd have to take the car back to work with me, since I was on my lunch break, take it to a mechanic after work, and then come back. He advised me, that.. nope... couldn't do that... he stated that if I drive it off the lot, it's mine. Period.2ND RED FLAG and then Andy, the idiot who's worked there 2 weeks minium( and he informed me of this too ) said.. yeah our mechanic already checked this out... and that should be good enough.. THIRD RED FLAG.

I said fine whatever, can't drive my old car anymore, it's toast.. need this one... i signed and left the lot with the Nissan.

Now, keep in mind as I'm writing this, it is TEN DAYS AFTER THE TIME I BOUGHT THE CAR...TEN OKAY.

3 days ago... just 4 days after I had the car.... I noticed some screeching and grinding of my gears, ( oh by the way the car steering wheel shook violently while I was driving on the highway until I paid $27 to get it balanced and rotated. )

and I figured it was the clutch, then on the 8th day... I noticed that it wouldn't go in reverse.. I said.. well... I'll get the clutch fixed, no big deal. Today I called up Patriot Motors, and asked them a simple question, because everyone said, just call them and ask them to fix it, since it is only 10 days since you purchased it. I said ok.

Brian came to the phone, and I asked for the GM, and he said he could help me. I explained who I was, and what car I just bought and he knew it was me. I said, look I've had the car for 10 days, and the clutch is going out. What can you do. He said um nothing. I said, why not? He said you bought it as is. I said regardless, that's not how you do business. I said, if it had been 7 mos later and here I am calling you, then that would be different. I said a contact with you, in regards to getting a good car. He said oh well. I said no it's not oh well. He said I paid good money for your vehicle, I said no you didn't.. he said yes I did, as a matter of fact on the way to the auction the ****ing thing blew up on me.

I told him I didn't appreciate him cussing at me. He stated that's his personality. I said, well your character isn't all thta good either. he said so technically you costed me another 75 bucks for a tow. I said technically, I don't owe you a d**n dime. I gave you my car, and I gave you 700 cash. He said, suck my **** and **** you. and hung up on me.

Well then I decided, I was not done with this, and I took it to THREE mechanics and had it looked at.
all 3 looked at the car, and came up with the same problem. Not the clutch, the Transmission is out. A couple other things had not been listed on the "as is" paper the dealership gave me. The car had been wrecked previously and a makeshift bumper was attached to the car, with putty. you can clearly see someones fingerprints on the underside of the wheel well where someone had put the putty on with their hand. 3rd was the transmission fluid was leaking out and peices of metal shined clear as day inside the fluid indicating that the gears were rubbing together, breaking off peices of metal inside my transmission.

When you go in reverse, it doesn't work. As I'm writing this, I just drove home, and now my car will not go over 30 miles per hour without howling and screaching.

The way I was talked to, was poor. That's probably one of the biggest problems here. The other problem is, they sold me a lemon, at the expense of myself... Didn't care if I had a job to get to, or a child to take care of... it was all about the buck. They have 8 complaints with the better business bureau. One at the same location that I was at, and another at the 2nd location they have. AND they were fined for selling cars, and the sales men not being " authorized " thanks to Google.

There's all kinds of good stuff on them. They are a horrible business, and I need some justice. Not only that , also I looked at the date and it was exactly 10 days to the date that i've bought this car. So in 10 days, supposedly ( from what the dealer said ) I broke the transmission and put all those metal peices in my fluid.

I either need another car, this one fixed at the expense of the dealer, or I want my money back that I paid down, and the money they supposedly gave me for my Grandam ( 1,000 ) . I have to get to work. I've been with my employer for a little over a year now, and I work very hard for the things I have. When you don't have any credit, no one will finance you. I pulled into their dealership in my grandam, with smoke billowing out from beneath the hood, so you can understand my desperation. I am also going to file a complaint with the BBB, contact the chamber of commerce in farragut, and I contacted a Lemon Laywer, and spoke with Bob Nichols Attorney general, and I'm filing a lawsuit against them for selling a faulty car.

In tennessee if they know something is wrong with a car, and sell it to you, regardless if it's AS IS - you are entitled to a refund. I'm also contacting the lender. If they have 8 complaints at the BBB - then they KNOW they are selling faulty cars. The transmission could have locked up on me, and made me wreck killing me, and my daughter.

I won't be had. I have spent 6 hours on the internet, typing up things and filing reports, with the department of safety, department of commerce, etc...
