Comptia and Pearson Vue engage in consumer fraud on a daily basis. When I purchased my exam vouchers, I agreed that there would be no refund and that my information would not be transferred without my permission. No other agreements were made at the time of purchase nor was there anything on my receipt that indicated that I would have to enter into additional agreements after the fact.

When I attempted to use my vouchers I was told that I had to enter into additional agreements or I could not take the exam and Comptia would keep my money. One of the additional agreements that Comptia tried to force me into was a direct contradiction of the purchase agreement. Comptia now wants me to give them the right to send my information anywhere in the world and they even make it clear that they cannot protect it.

Contacting customer service was a waste of time as it quickly became clear that Comptia train their employees to assist them in their efforts to defraud consumers. The lady from the Comptia voucher store insinuated that I was having buyers remorse and most likely not capable of passing Comptia's exam. Must have been my African American voice... who knows.

She never asked or I would have gladly told her that I have a 3.9 GPA have already passed a certification that is considered by the instructors at ATC to be more challenging than the A+. Furthermore, I rank #1 at ATC for all students who have taken the PC TESTOUT Pro certification.  My issue is their bait and switch tactics.  ie: This is all that is required.... Now that we have your money, agree to these additional terms or we'll steal your money.

I simply asked that they abide by our original agreement and the customer service lady insulted my intelligence. I've now filed complaints with the FTC and the BBB and have started a campaign to inform people about the shady practices undertaken by Comptia and Pearson Vue. The next step will be filing a civil suit and starting a website for individuals who wish to pursue class action litigation.
