This concerns a group of firms, supposedly one firm, that become involved when you contact any one of them. Their names are: Credit Diagnosis, PMIDENITY and Member Savings with other on-line (charge account) names of 24Protect 650563200 and PivaryMatter257840403. Checking on-line with the Illinois State Corporations Commission I could not find any such names registered as either corporations or trade names.

I also checked the site Rippoff Report (www.ripoffreport.com) and found complaints on these sites as follows: Credit Diagnosis 46, PMIDENITY 6, Member Savings 4, 24Protest 26 and PrivacyMatters 346. Thus a total of 428 complaints! I've attached just one of the complaints (1), not the worst of them by any means! Further I attempted to contact them by the following two numbers without being able to get to a live person or a write-in site: 800-379.5036 & 800-436-0817. These numbers came from the Ripoof Report site and my credit card sponsor, USAA. I couldn't find any phone numbers for any of the firms in the telephone directory sites.

My problem began on December 18, 2008 when I went on-line to a firm listed on AOL as giving free credit reports. I entered the information they asked for, including my credit card number, as I believed this would be required for any identity verification. The site then gave me two IDs which started to confuse me. Why two? The site said they were charging me $1.00. It was so confusing to me that I stopped everything and didn't even pursue going to credit report firms listed. As I could find no on-line way to cancel anything I'd done, I immediately wrote and mailed the attached letter (2). Being still worried after receiving two confirmations from them, I e-mailed back to their confirmation sites two e-mails (3) making sure they deleted any membership.

Yesterday, I found on my USAA web site that I had been charged $100 twice and then today another $29.95. (See 4) Although this is not a great amount in dollars, I worry about any future charges and it angers me that any firm can be this crooked. I notified USAA by phone about this problem.
