ResellerRatings.com is a bunch of extortion artists. We created a profile with them hoping to help our sales. WARNING: once you create a company profile with them, you CANNOT remove it. Then, after we had a few positive ratings, a very negative rating appeared. This was a completely FRAUDULENT rating, the events of which never even took place. We contacted them about this rating, after which they informed us that we have to become a paying member, after which we would be able to file a claim and have it removed. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

THERE IS A REASON WHY THEY DO NOT POST any way to contact them, check it out for yourself. Their fax # is fake, the phone number is not listed. For anyone's information, they are hosted by THEPLANET.COM. We are thinking about filing a DMCA report about them using our company name and logo without our permission.

THEY EXTORT MONEY to remove fraudulent negative ratings they themselves post.

2011 and they're at it again

Resellerratings.com has, once again, switched back to an extortionist model.  Merchants can no longer respond, comment, or even flag reviews for free.  That means, you cannot even tell this unscrupulous organization when reviews on their site violate their own Terms of Use!

Suppose your competitor wants to hurt you -- all he has to do is create a login at Resellerratings.com, post a terrible review of you, and you have no recourse unless you succumb to CEO Scott Wainner's extortion and pay them for the right to have inaccurate information removed.

Multiply that by hundreds of phony logins and hundreds of phony reviews.  Your business reputation could be damaged immeasurably, if you don't submit to Resellerratings.com's blackmail.

Heck -- I wouldn't put it past Resellerratings.com to generate their own negative reviews simply to further their extortion scheme.

This company switches their model every so often to appease resellers, then switches it back to pay only model, when they think we're not paying attention.  Unscrupulous! 

If you're going to host a forum where the public can post their opinion for free, then it must be free for all -- including the resellers.

Reseller Ratings ar extorting money from users AGREED!!

I agree with this thread but I don't think Reseller Ratings actually posted any comments on the users.

I to am a victim of Reseller Rating shift in policy when the started hiding the customers invoice # unless you pay them money.  Leaving you with no way to contact the customer directly to fix the problems. 

This should be 100% against the law especially since you have no option to take your business off of the site and I would be glad to provide any info to any laywer interested in taking them on.

Wholly false. ResellerRatings has a variety of manual and automated tools in place to prevent non-customers from writing reviews and to detect fake reviews written by merchants. Customers must include their invoice number with every review, and random checks are used to verify invoices, where we write the reviewer and ask to obtain a copy of their invoice or credit card statement, to enforce our terms of use policy requiring reviews by actual customers. Automated checks using computer network information, email addresses, and other data are used to prevent fake reviews.

ResellerRatings is operating wholly within the law, we provide a variety of voluntary tools to merchants to help them improve their ratings and to resolve customer disputes (contact reviewers via our site, post rebuttals, get alerts when new reviews are posted, toll-free support line to our staff, view reviewer invoice numbers), all of which are provided as a service and not something we have to do. We will aggressively defend our rights if provoked. We have been on the web for 14 years and have never been the defendant in a lawsuit - that's because merchants know that we are operating wholly within the law, and they know that it's better to work with us than against us and that they cannot stop their customers from writing opinions online in blogs, forums, or anywhere. At least at ResellerRatings, merchants can use our tools to manage customer feedback which is not possible anywhere else. ResellerRatings is not a free for all. We have policies, and 65% of all reviews at our site are either Somewhat or "Very Satisfied".

ResellerRatings.com is NO BIZRATE!!!!

I am an online merchant who has had this exact same negative experience with ResellerRatings.com. Consumers should not rely on resellerratings.com, anyone can post anything there. There is zero checking done to confirm that any review actually comes from a legit customer and zero moderation is done before reviews are posted. I run a 100% legit website selling home improvement products. A few days after we signed up for their free account a horrible review appeared. In four years of doing business online, I never even seen a review this negative! We are currently contacting our lawyers in regard to this review that literally accuses us of criminal activity and that further states that we have a poor rating with the Better Business Bureau. The fact of the matter is that we have no idea who posted the review and that we have an excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau. As I mentioned our lawyer says that we have a strong case against resellerratings.com and whoever posted the libelous review.

HOW THEY MAKE MONEY: once you get a free account, they forge a negative feedback, then demand money to QUOTE UNQUOTE "review it", meaning to remove it.


this company is as sneaky as they come. they don't post any contact details, no address, no phone number, the phone number in their WHOIS is disconnected. Obviously, they don't want anyone to find them.

You'd ask, if they are an honest business, why wouldn't they wanna be found?

The answer is, they are NOT AN HONEST business. I think the whole site is run by a maximum of 2 people. BTW it's hosted at THEPLANET if anyone wants to know.

1) It is not possible to pay ResellerRatings to remove reviews. Period. Reviews are only disabled if they fail to comply with our published terms of use (http://www.resellerratings.com/terms.pl), and even then, we first work with the reviewer to bring the review into compliance (asking them to remove profanity, for instance, or to provide us with proof of their order transaction). We never told any company to become a paying member so that they can "file a claim and have the review removed". That is an outright lie.

2) We offer a FREE account to merchants, which lets them: flag reviews for evaluation (and possible removal) under our terms of use, receive email alerts notifying them of any new review posted, and to use our exit survey popup to solicit reviews from their customers during the order checkout process. We don't charge for any of that.

3) ResellerRatings does not get involved in "he said, she said" disputes between merchants and their customers. We provide a venue for customers to voice their opinions. We do not investigate the accuracy of those opinions, nor do we moderate or pre-screen reviews before they are posted. Reviewers are free to edit their reviews at any time.
