Safeway - San Leandro Greenhouse Safeway manager allowed a prejudice employee to retaliate and harass black worker ripoff San Leandro California

Back in Septemeber 2006- November 2006, I been constantly getting harassed by a Safeway emloyee in which she and a store manager harass me when I worked at the Greenhouse Safeway in San Leandro, CA, I was living in a shelter and had my little dog and 2 cats in my car as I did check on them while working.

The employee in whom I befriended (Shelly), told me she been in the same situation and could help me with my situation of my pets. So they didn't have to be in my car, next thing I know this women(Shelly), had the police come to my job while I was checker on the cash register and I had to go outside to talk to them as they ask mequestions about my annimals in my car ( they had air, water, and food) and I told them that I'm living in a shelter and was trying to get help with the situation of my animals in my car.

Shelly was laughing and making racist and rude remarks about "my (((REDACTED FOUL LANGUAGE))) a**" as she told other white and hispanic employees about how she embarassed me and hated blacks at her store in which is mostly white with few blacks and when I complained to the manager (Jeff) and Mike McPhee they both told me to accept it and if I don't like it I will suffer. Jeff didn't do anything about Shelly who is hispanic/ white and he refused to fired or displine her.

Jeff retailated against me when I call the Corporate office of CEO Steve Byrd and HR relations rep to handle this matter. I never been written up or anything, but was always told I was a STAR worker until I complained as these altercations that continued with Shelly and she cause problems with other white co- workers by creating a hostile work environment.

The Jeff started telling customers and employees that he was going to fire me for complaining while I'm standing there on the stands watching him and when I contact the HR reps in Pleasanton I was told that they don't hate time to help me and aren't allowed to investigate any racism nor harassment on any employees, I contacted the union of UCFW in HAyward, CA and my union rep has not contacted me in regards to this matter. I'm seeking legal help in regards to this matter as it cause depression and mental anguish.
