The Prometheus Co. Poor management Lexington Park Maryland

I worked for Prometheus Co for about 6 months. I was an admin assistant for a Sr. Program Analyst supporting the PMA-265 Program Office. (Financial stuff)

I was asked to take on a Junior Financial Analyst position because the lady that was currently holding that position was going on maternity leave.

I was promised I would get paid for the time I was filling that position. I was suppose to train with the lady before she left (a total of 3 months training) but wasnt trained until the last few days before she left. AFTER I started the position, completley untrained and unprepared, I was told that was NOT going to be paid.

I had already told myself if I wasnt going to get paid for the HUGE jump in work loads, I wouldnt do it. My boss basically gave me a guilt trip to try and "make" me do the job anyway. I didnt think that was fair considering I was taking on A LOT more than my normal work load AND he expected me to continue to do my current job ON TOP of my "new" one.

How can a company keep good, hard working employees by treating them that way? I wasnt the only person who was mistreated. I heard many stories from employees that stayed...stayed because they didnt know where else to go. I, on the other hand, found another job and left. I left while the lady was still on leave...so they kind of screwed themselves if you ask me!
