My husband and I  unwittingly went online and chose what we thought to be a reputable moving company to move us to another state.  The sales department was great.  They set up our move and were very accomodating.  We paid $100 in the beginning.

The movers came on November 2nd as scheduled and loaded us. We had to pay half of the money owed for the move. The gentleman doing the paper work that day told us it would be approximately 4 days after the date that we gave them that we would be available to receive our furniture.  That date was November the 6th.  We didn't receive our furniture until November the 18th, which we had to pay the rest of the money owed before the guy would unload.  He came with no help and my husband, nice guy that he is, helped him.

As inconvienient as that was, our real complaint is that we received some of our furniture damaged and 2 chairs were missing.  We had some scratches on our dining chairs, scratches and gouges on our desk and the drawer was missing.  We reported this and were told to take pictures and descibe the missing chairs.  We did this in November and have been getting the run around from the claims department ever since.

They received our claim and pictures and said they would review it and send us an offer by mail.  I called back 2 or 3 weeks later to find out our claim was still laying on the pile of claims because the claims person was out but would be back the next day.  Time went by and after receiving nothing by mail I called back to find out it was still laying there.  She said she had been out of the office, but she put ours on top of the pile.  When I called back today she said it was no longer on top of the pile, but she would put it back on top.  The excuse for the claims person not getting to it this time was that she was training someone!

We feel we have no control over our situation.  I asked to speak to the person over the claims department and they ring her phone but it always goes to voice mail and they do not call  back.   We get the feeling that they hope we will get tired and give up but that isn't happening!

It isn't always that someone makes a mistake, but how they rectify it.  They wouldn't wait for their money, but we have been waiting a long time for ours!
