The document came to the house with an "Award Notification Final Notice" and a voucher that looks like a check In small letters this must be redeemed for a "Travel Certificate And Has No Cash Value". I had no intention to redeem the voucher. When I called the young man ask some questions about maritial status and if the income was over $50,000. There was an location in Scottsdale provided. When pressed about why would a person need a travel agent when Kayak is available. The Rep did not know what Kayak was and stated that the travel agent could get travel at wholesale. When I stated that I was not interested he becaaaaame more aggressive. I had to call to get the pitch.

They wanted to know your marital status to be sure that your spouse shows up if you are married. They wanted to know your income because poor folk ain't got no money. Your free travel would have been to a time share resort and you would be subjected to a constant sales pitch until you and your spouse sign on the dotted line. The rep you spoke with knows nothing of Kayak because he is not a travel agent, he is a real estate agent.
BTW, there was a place in Hilton Head a couple of years ago that used to advertise free travel on cable TV. If you read the terms and conditions on their website it was rather clear that the destination was not Hilton Head but rather it was a time share sales pitch at one particular place in Hilton Head.
