My home used to set on rental property that i am buying,i recently moved my home to another location,so now i want to sell the land which my home was moved to at first, just a location for Vanderbilt, couldn't put the home in the street, didn't own land at time .So it has been 6 months at new location, now i want to sell the land from which the home was moved, Vanderbilt says they have a deed of trust on that land,i never signed anything for them to have that land for coladeral,I have talked with financial managers ,some say there is no deed of trust and others say there is.Who do i beleive? I think a lawyer could probably get this strightened out.

The manager at vanderbilt tells me that if i sell the land ,then they have to have 10,000.00 to be put on my home.I think this is totally wrong,I can't give you a deed of trst unless i own the property.Besides i did give them deed of trust for other land that i own but not that one.

I have ONE (1) thing to say for anybody that is buying anything from anywhere,READ your papers very carefully, better still get a lawyer to look at contract,I have searched my papers over and over and can not find anything that says vanderbilt has right to take deed of trust on anything unless it says Deed Of Trust at top of paper. Can any one give me advise on this crazy deal going on with Vanderbilt ?Thanks so much.

Check with local Recorder of Deeds

AUTHOR: Paula - (U.S.A.)

I suggest you check with your local county Recorder of Deeds office just to double check that no deed was recorded on that property by Vanderbilt. Any deed of trust would have to be recorded in order to be legal. All documents recorded by the Recorder of Deeds with regard to property ownership is public record.
