Wackenhut was given the Starkey Foundation Gala Awards event in Saint Paul. At least two formal complaints stemmed from that two day event. Two or more employees complained to the MN Dept. of Labor and Wackenhut Corporate HQ in Florida. One employee claimed that he/she was made to work 20 hours and basically told to stay or quit. It was later said (By Wackenhut) to be more like 16-18 hours. Another person claimed that no or not enough breaks were allowed during an entire 10 hour plus shift. This was a standing on your feet the entire time-work situation. I was there. I know that the manager in charge of that event was talked to about the complaints. He said to another employee, "I need to watch my back because of the MN Dept. of Labor." Is that really all that Wackenhut did to amend these serious complaints? The last GM out of Saint Paul was hit with sexual harassment charges and supposedly a lawsuit was in tow. If anyone knows what really happened with that incident they should post.
A couple field supervisors and managers are really new to the workforce in general and have no real-life or work experience. It seems like they just promote using the good old boy standard-promote your drinking buddies. They also employ the - well, he was the only one here long enough to promote-method. Obviously quality means nothing here because performance is substandard. I know of a Captain who is a field supervisor who is as I'm typing, showing favoritism toward a female employee. He is way too close to her personally and places her at the best sites and also had her promoted. The following is a complaint in reference to this older Captain and his misconduct at Wackenhut in Saint Paul sent to Corp. HQ:
Complaint about destructive field Supervisor in St. Paul area.
You are employing a Captain, Jay xxxx, who is supposed to be supervising and checking sites on the night shift. He is supposed to act responsibly and professionally. This man is tearing apart sites and turning people against one another with gossip, management bashing, and misconduct. He is also placing a certain female employee under his protective wing and offering special help that only a Captain in his postition can offer. There is a perceived obsession with a certain female employee named Captain WW.
Jay xxxx is not only going to his assigned sites on his shift, he is going there and staying for extended periods of time to gossip about other employees, especially management. Jay doesn't simply gossip. He weaves his hatred for JK, (area manager) and others in his conversations to anyone who will listen during his "visits". Jay's primary goal at the Saint Paul Wackenhut office is to get JK fired so he can put WW in his place. Yes, I heard him say that. Jay xxxx gives this female employee, WW, money and calls her several times during the day to make sure she is "okay", even if it's not work related and on days off. He claims he is a father figure to her and that she is fragile. I also heard him say that all women are fragile and to assume that all have been abused. This thought process is very disturbing and has no place in the workplace! I find that offensive.
The rest of us know the simple truth, he is obsessed and will do anything to get her into the office, and JK fired. I heard Jay xxxx say, "I've got WW hidden away at GE Money so that JK and his friends can't get to her." What is that supposed to mean? He shouldn't tell the entire Wackenhut staff his inappropriate biases/lies. Jay xxxx claims that JK has gotten away with too much at Wackenhut and he has a lot of visible hatred for JK. Jay xxxx says he needs to protect WW and that is why he stays on with the company. Everyone knows Jay xxxx is a management basher. Starting rumors/lies and spreading hate/openly bashing a manager is not ethical or allowed. Some people have said they tune him out when he starts talking. This is not the first time Jay has been inappropriately involved with another female employee. In fact he and another male were both involved with a female employee and now they cannot stand each other. (Both while employed with Wackenhut) That female employee was essentially fired.
Jay xxxx made a special visit to a site (June 08) ONLY to find out which male was possibly interested in getting to know WW. Of course this was under the pretense of a site inspection. According to witnesses, he was extremely demanding and visibly upset when he found out which male was interested in possibly meeting WW. This should be none of his business and is certainly not work related. He is also banned from another Wackenhut account/site recently because of his bashing and conspiracy theories about the Saint Paul office. Those employees were told to call the police if he showed up and didn't leave the premises.
One employee told me that she used to work at XYX Company. She also said she trained WW at that site. This qualified female was not put in charge of that site. Instead, Jay xxxx put WW in charge of that site for obvious personal reasons stated previously in this complaint. This is FAVORITISM. It may be true that this WW has enemies at the company, but Jay xxxx has no business with her on such an obvious personal level. This is blatant favoritism and misconduct on behalf of Jay xxxx. Possibly to the point of obsession. I have been with Wackehut for over two years. The time has come for someone to do something about Jay xxxx's behavior and misconduct. A serious investigation needs to take place here before someone else complains about a hostile work environment and favoritism. I just might do that if this is not looked into seriously. This is affecting everyone at every site Jay xxxx visits. Jay's actions make people think you have to be a female to get a promotion or a good placing with Wackenhut!
