I recieved a call in December of 2010 about a free 1,000 dollar shopping spree online. I asked them what the catch was. the guy a talked to told me that there wasn't any catch and that it was just a promotion for magazines.

I explained very well that I didnt want any magazines or have to pay anything. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to send three magazines for free, along with a paper that is going to have a number on it that I could use to shop online.

I asked the guy what kind of thing they sold on the website. he told me cool things like TV, games, ect...

He explained that i would only be charged the $8.93 for shipping and handling and nothing else. After I got the paper in the mail with the shopping spree number on it I immediatly went to "selectyourgifts.com" to see what they had.

I tried to call several times to get the website working(it wouldn't accept the confirmation number) I finally got in contact with a lady who said that I have to wait 24 hours.

After going to the website I felt like I just went Saturday Garage sale shopping! There was nothing but crap!! let me take that back..theres more valuable items at a garage sale, than that website store!

I got my magazines after i was charged $98.00 from my account. (before that time I called several more time on that last number I treid and know one answered). I went online and founf this forum and found some more numbers to try.

After many attemps I talked to a lady that was very rude, insisting that because I dint call in before 21 days that i was obligated to pay because I agreed to it when I first told them to send me the 1000.00 online shopping certificate

She told me that it was recorded and that she could get me the recording. Itold her to an she said that it would take a few weeks. Icalled back 2 weeks later, no answer.

After 2 months of nothing from them and a report fraud report given to the bank, (I thought it was takin care of), I get a call from  Gary employee # 4712 extension 1008 saying that he was calling to get things resovled.

After Gary trying to say that I was recorded and that i didnt call back before 21 days I got upset, he blew up saying that he knows that I was told everything and that I egreed to it because he was the one that sold it to me.

I insisted that that wasnt true and I know for a fact that it was a younger guy and not him, he then hung up on me. I called right back on that same number and I told him that he cant hang up on customers.

He told me sorry that he got mad and proceeded to tell me his life story about how he was taought by his dad that the customer is always rgiht, that he worked in the selling departmen for many years and is now responsible for complaints to the company and to fix them.

Very long story, very short...He told me that I was obligated and that instead of me paying 45.00 for 60 months(cause suppossively I was told that before), that they would bring it down to 35.00 for 30 months.

Feeling that I was obligated I accepted that because I figuered 30 months at 35.00 was better than 60 months at 45.00 dollars. after talking to some people I know, I called back to gary and told him to stop lying and tricking me to more contracts and to get the tape that I had asked for 2 months prior. 

After hanging up with him again I called to cancel my card and found out that just before I did I had a pending fee of 35.00 from them(which I was also told that I wouldnt have to pay for 60 days because of the inconvenience).

He said that he would call back monday. I waited till 2:30 pm and called. after 3 tries he called back and I was told that his supervisor wasn't there yet and that he needed more time to get the tape and to call him back thursday if I didnt hear from him before then....

We'll see what happens next!
