So I have been a fan of Apache powerboats for many yeasrs since I was a young child. Now I have finally been able to own my own Apache powerboat. I was looking into purchasing a new Apache Powerboat from the manufacturer.

After finding their information online I begen reading their website and noticed that the history of the boat was not as i remembered it. So I began to investigate the story and found that the Apache Brand, name as well as the logo had been obtained by someone by the name of Mark McManus.

I continued to research and saw on online court filings that this new owner had obtained the name through a technicality and basically took it from the original owner Bob Saccenti who is and was a legend in offshore powerboat racing. Obvliously I wanted to have the bout built by him.

I continued to dig deeper into the rich history which included names such as Don Aronow (Deceased), he was the founder of Cigarette Powerboats and Donzi. Obviosly the pedigree is important when making such a large investment such as this.

But then I noticed on his website there were photos of boats that he did not build or create. I then found Bob Sacentti and got his number and spoke with him. He never once mentioned this Mark McManus in the builds of any of those boats represented on his website.

If you look at the website and read the content in the about section it clearly tries to paint the new owners as them who built those boats, that is what it leads you to believe. That is not true and seems to be a case of stolen valor as the original owner fought to try and keep the name. McManus insisted on taking it from him.

Buyer Beware that these are not the original owners or builders of the boats on their site. And also their apparel is a Rip Off, and is extremely poor quality. This is somehting to be aware of.
