Aspen Dental Lied about everything and was going to overcharge Mt airy North Carolina

I'm new to Mt Airy NC as of 12/01. Went to Aspen dental first. Showed my insurance card which pays $1k for the year. I told them I was concerned about getting work done before the end of the year. Aspen dental took xrays and told me I needed partial deep cleaning and 4 crowns replaced. They said I needed to pay $1428 for the cleaning which is $528 more than what other dentists would charge for FULL mouth cleaning. So decided to get 2nd opinion elsewhere.

I came to Aspen Dental office to request copies of my records. Was given hard copy instead of digital.

When I asked for them to send a copy of their recommended procedures and their proposed charges to my insurance company for pre-approval, was told it could take a month to get approval. Other dentist office said it should take less than a week.

Aspen Dental overcharges! I suspect they don't participate in dental plans.

Update:

Just went to Mt Airy Dental Studio. They told me didn't need deep clean and I don't have periodontal disease. They called UHC and got answers about prices/coverage in minutes- not the month Aspen Dental said it would take.

 They did a cleaning for $115. Their appraisal of what I really need will cost $968 as opposed to the $8541 Aspen Dental proposed. So Aspen Dental are liars and thievès!!! Shame on them!
