On 21 March 2022, Carlos Alvarez-González and I entered into a fence and concrete contract for an initial price of $11,800. Where Carlos would include labor and materials for a backyard white vinyl fence with gates on each side of the house, repair front wooden fence, concrete on the sides and back of the house, remove tree trunks, concrete for a storage unit (to include moving storage on the new concrete), widen driveway for an additional vehicle and some asphalt in front widened driveway.

About 7 April 2022, we adjusted the contract to include cement all around the house and replace the front fence with a white vinyl farmers fence for $14,000. On 29 April 2022, I paid-off Carlos Alvarez-González with a payment of $4,000.00 (for a total of 13, 996.49) and communication has decreased to no response to calls, texts, WhatsApp texts, and emails.

The last time we had a conversation was on 4 May 2022, it was regarding issues that Carlos cannot buy the concrete without renting a pump and vice versa. Carlos further explained that it different in Big Bear because the concrete businesses required him to use their pumps and labor. Carlos was able to find a concrete business for 11 May 2022. And on 10 May 2022, Carlos stated on a text that they are suppose to pour the concrete on 11 May 2022.

On 12 May 2022, I receive a text stating that he gave a deposit to a concrete business and he waited for them but they did not show up. I replied that it is not my problem and that I want the work completed. And since I’m law enforcement officer I can help report it maybe potential fraud. On 16 May 2022, I called Robertson’s Ready Mix Concrete in Big Bear to get a quote for 10 yards of concrete (Per Carlos).

Robertson’s asked if I would be getting a pump through them or that I can get rent a pump on my own. I separately found concrete laborers that can pour the concrete. They told me it was more about 12-13 yards that I would need. I not sure if Carlos fabricated the above-mentioned issues. We entered into a contract in March and Never completed the fence and concrete work. I had to hire someone else to complete the work and fix damages committed in neighbors fence.
