Charlie in San Leandro from Craigslist was offering a guitar case for sale on Craigslist for $20 San Leandro California

I wanted to buy an acoustic guitar case from a man named Charlie in San Leandro. I first contacted him on 2 December. He told me he was out of town until Tuesday and that any time on Wednesday would work.

I checked in on Wednesday 6 December, and he told me he was stuck at work. I called him on the phone and he said that I could get in touch Friday afternoon to close the deal.

Come Friday, I texted him at 12. There was no reply, so I continued to ask where he was. After being kept waiting for nearly four hours, he told me he got stuck at work again.

I then asked: "When can we actually do this? You said Wednesday, any time, but that didn't happen. You said today after 12, but I was kept waiting for about 4 hours only to be told you got stuck at work.

"Meanwhile, I just want to buy a case for a guitar that I'm giving a girl I've been seeing for Christmas and I keep getting left hanging."

He then said, "Yeah I get it but Ive been very busy. I don't want to keep leaving you hanging. I'll just sell it to someone that can pick it up from my house. Sorry it didn't work out."

I obviously wasn't having that and said as much, so he offered to give me the guitar case for free if I went to his house to pick it up, on the condition that I apologize for being annoying. 

I reminded him in so many words that I was reacting to being left hanging, and he said, "OK, no deal."
