Incredibly there is a wussyfication of criminal defense attorneys across the country in the last 30 years.

Because judges and prosecutors are so powerful, rather than stand up to the government, criminal defense attorneys have largely failed defendants and are running through their offices, always looking for the next sucker. So unless you have a cousin named Vinny, criminal defendants are likely much better off with court appointed lawyers. You won't get any better representation or a better outcome, but you will save yourself tens of thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. Defense lawyers will yes you to death but won't really put up a fight. It's really no surprise, however, because attorneys, prosecutors and judges all no one another. They have lunch together, belong to the same country clubs and basically all have the same goals, to get to a plea deal with as little work as possible. Perhaps the defense attorneys are afraid of the judges and the prosecutors and heaven help you should you decide to take your case to trial and thus increase the workload for the prosecutors and judges. Should you lose, just be prepared to have the judge throw the book at you! Guilt or innocence never really factors into the equation and for the most part you're just guilty until proven innocent.

Such is the next story of the dummy lawyer, Christopher J Cannon For the textbook example of a dummy defense lawyer, look no further than Christopher John Cannon of San Francisco. In a recent case he was representing me and caused me to agree to a plea deal of which no respectable attorney would have ever recommended. Attorney Cannon was the epitome of a wussy defense attorney. He was so scared of the prosecutor, Mohit Gourisaria aka the mohat, that rather than put a vigorous defense, he let himself get walked all over. Cannon failed to object when appropriate or stick up for me or even himself. When us later as to why didn't you checked to the lies that were being spun about me? His response to me was the judge seem to be angry, so I didn't think it would be wise to piss him off anymore. But don't worry this will work out to our advantage, in a year from now we will go ahead and file for a compassionate release. Seriously a compassionate release? That was the stupid answer he gave me Canon had not only performed terribly, he dropped the ball in nearly every aspect. Canon constantly walked on eggshells around the mohat, he asked him to lunch numerous times, but the more had rejected his invitations every single time. In the courtroom on the day of my sentencing, Canon seem scared and intimidated as he started like a parrot and froze like a deer in headlights. And when the judge seem totally confused asking Ken in the same questions again and again, Kevin was just dumbfounded and couldn't give the judge a proper answer and so the judge sided with the mohat. Hardly the way he defendant was his criminal defense attorney acting. It was clear throughout the entire litigation process, including sentencing, that Canon was overmatched by the mohat who clearly wipe the floor with him. Like most wussy defense lawyers, Canon yessed me to death, but Cannon hoped the fact that he went to school with a judge would help,(yeah right).

Unfortunately, Canon was walked all over at his pitiful representation total to a plea deal, that cost me 9 years of my life.

Not much to work with

AUTHOR: Flint - (Afghanistan)

POSTED: Saturday, August 26, 2023

From what I can find about your case, there really was not much to work with. You absconded and it sounds like there was plenty of hard evidence establishing your guilt. What do you think your attorney can do if you plead guilty? The answer is, not much, especially in a federal case with fairly inflexible sentencing guidelines.

The man is a moron and that's an insult to moron's. He never objected when necessary and stuttered when the judge asked him questions. Mohit wiped the floor with him. Christopher J Cannon is a joke!

The only reason a lawyer, especially one you are paying, would advise to take a plea deal is if you have absolutely no chance of succeeding at trial. In that situation, I am not sure what you expect. There is no reason for the prosecutor to give you a sweetheart deal if they have a strong case, and there is very little the defense counsel can do in that case. If you believe you are not guilty, why did you plead guilty instead of proving your innocence in court? In fact, that's one of the main things the judge asks you, whether you admit that you are guilty as charged.
