i am a 67 year old senior citizen woman who booked an apt. from Ben in Tempe Az way ahead.   The ad says to put key code into pad at the door, that would be the entry process, which is what all of them want you do.  This guy, Ben on the day of my arrival tells me he wants to meet me face to face.  I travelled from Tahoe to Phoenix, which is a 13 hour drive but took me 15 hours which was expected because of conditions of roads.  I also sat in a 3 hour standstill because of a oil spill from tanker on I-93. So 18 hours in my car and i was awake at 4:00  am.  I was wiped out.  I told him that I would not be there until late and didn't know what time because travelling always comes with problems so I was not interested in hanging out with him right then. I would only be interested in dragging my stuff out my car and hitting the bed. I was meeting my family in Phoenix there but they wouldn't for a few days.

  He wanted to see what i looked like and judging me on that by giving me the once over and because he had a bad experience with someone else so everyone will have the wrath of Ben because of that. He wanted to see if he liked me based on how i look.  When he accepted my reservation way back and took my 3315.00 that is when people decide they like you.  He waited until the last minute when I was driving all that way in really bad road conditions, even north of Las Vegas, 95 was iced over with patches of thick ice. He said if i didn't meet him that i would not have that apt.    I didn't have any place else to go and he had my 3315,00. i have stayed at alot of Airbnbs and i got alot of good reviews. I ran into a few wackjobs, like this one, you always run into a few wackjobs in everything you do. But, this one takes the cake. He is a paranoid lunatic and to say at the last minute that i would not have that place after all after all i went through, that is despicable.  He has some serious issues.     I was on the phone all day while driving in dangerous conditions with airbnb to get them to get my money back because lunatic Ben didn't actively cancel the reservation on the airbnb site only saying it to me so i couldn't possibly get another one if i even could at this late date which i found was impossible.  He didn't even offer to give refund.  It took my whole trip to get someone from airbnb to get my money. The first two i spoke to did nothing.  

This morning I went to an eatery close by for breakfast and I mentioned what happened and one of the waitstaff said they knew of lunatic Ben. They heard he has cameras all around and it is said that he has cameras inside the apt.  WOW, I DODGED THAT BULLET.  DON'T RENT FROM THIS LUNATIC, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN.    So that would explain why he wanted to see what i looked like ahead of time to see if i was camera worthy.  I am an attractive 67 year old but not young so if he didn't like how i looked than he would have given me the boot at 11:00 pm when i arrived. WHEEEEEEW.  I'm telling you this one takes the cake.  Obviously you don't want anything to do with this one.
