Dr. John Smothers Integrative Wellness Center Business Opportunity Scam, Employment Fraud, Illegal Practices Memphis Tennessee

Dr. John Smothers posts opening for a Lifestyle Educator and Administrative Assistant for his practice, but reneges on hourly pay and legitimate forms (i.e., W-4. I-9, etc.) to work at his clinic.  I initially applied for the position excited to know such an opening even existed, came in and trained for a full day at the clinic (9a.m.-4:30p.m.), and was initially offered part-time employment.  After agreeing to accept the part-time role, I come in and he suddenly can't afford to pay anyone hourly pay, but can pay only on a customer-by-customer basis.  This was not what was originally agreed upon.  And I'm very disappointed by the fake opportunity offered.  Also, I was not given any kind of compensation for training.  The existing front-desk clerk also mentioned that he has not filed her W-4 form, but has been working there for six months and he simply wrote out personal checks with fractional amount of taxes taken out.  I strongly question the legitimacy of his business practices, as there is nothing to show proof of employment--that is, nothing is contracted/binding.
