This company, acting as an Amazon third-party seller, put a gallon bottle of 85% phosphoric acid in a loosely, half-tied poly bag and then shoved it into a flimsy, thin-walled box that was just the size of the bottle with NO PADDING around the perimeter of it. And expectedly, the pressure of an incompressible fluid forced the cap off with very little effort at some point.. and the box was delivered a dripping mess out of the cardboard container with a pint in the bag and bleeding-out. Boy, that padding at the top and bottom sure protected those fragile ends!

If they or other sellers were to sell other dangerous chemicals like hydrochloric or nitric acid and it leaked all over the box, not only would it risk the health of the shipping and delivery people, but it would most likely nitrate the cellulose in the cardboard into guncotton (nitrocellulose), and then say "hello" to a fire and/or BOOM.

Oh, and while carefully taking pictures of their shame, the bag and bottle disgorged itself and so now I'm out $12 for 12 lbs. of baking soda, $9 for a pair of P100 respirator filters, 3 garbage bags, $3 in gas, and 2 hours of my time to haul this embarassing greed/incompetence HAZMAT situation to a hazardous waste processor because of THEIR improper, HAZMAT-undeclared shipping practices and inadequate packaging. That's roughly $25, not including my time, which is $150/hr; so their BS cost me no less than $325.

If left to continue this SNAFU, they will undoubtedly burn down a shipping facility or get someone (or someones) killed.

Do things safely and properly, or go sell Amway products.
