When I purchased the cruises corona virus was not an issue.  I called the company two days prior to it spreading globally with concerns about my health.  I cannot afford to become ill; I've just been in recovery for the past two years.  There are extensive warnings for the elderly, of which I am.

Not wanting to aggravate my condition, paying to become ill, I asked for a refund.  They would only extend my options for six months, refusing to refund my money.  They told me I could stay in the hotel for the 5 days and avoid the cruise.

I don't want to go to Florida to stay in a hotel; I booked a cruise.  To me, it's the epitomy of greed to be so inconsiderate of others, especially when it is a potentially life threatening situation.

Wrong

AUTHOR: Stacey - (United States)

You chose to book a cruise without insurance therefore you are on the hook for that cost. If you have been in "recovery" for two years then how did the cruise ship company forsee this virus? They did not nor did any entity. They offered to help you yet you did not accept their offer therefore no ripoff.

FYI how was the cruise company responsible for your dire illness? They are not therefore you are just looking for a way out without consequences. I am SURE their website stated their refund policy. Therefore sorry but there is not a ripoff here and NO I do not work for them.

Insurance?

You know about your own condition, your age and your recovery for TWO YEARS. One would think, given these points, you would matter of factly purchase insurance. However, you chose to gamble. You cannot have it both ways!
