during covid my father was ill with kidney stones and very dehydrated.  I had to admit him to the closest hospital and i was not permitted to enter. Yet, JFK medical center allowed on family member to enter the facility.  He was given care and placed on iv medication for a few days and released before his medication was completed and released him with the IV.

I asked if he could stay until he completed his medicaton and they denied it and stated if i would not pick him up they would declare abandonment. I went to pick him up at the emergency entrance and they released him in a patients gown and lost his shoes and clothing.  The next time he had to be admitted for kidney stones removal and when he came home in a med truck he was bound up in medical hand gloves and so afraid and angry that he could not move. I was not able to pick him up and the discharge team decided to have him brought home with the med truck.  while he was home he went on hospice and the IV line came undone and the hospice team would not reinsert the line and stated he would have to go back to the hospital to have it redone.  This hospice team recommended from jupiter medical center had certified nurses staying over yet, would not reinsert the iv line for fluids and for me to send him back to jupiter medical center and not being able to stay with him I did not because he was so afraid. So I let it go and he passed.  My father was 85 years old and if I would have sent him to the hospital for reinsertion of the iv line they told me they would discontinue the hospice. 

With the experience with jupiter medical center I did not want him to suffer anymore.
