Kema Tillman Tillco Construction Co JBs Roofing of Tillco Construction Steals Homeowner Money to Fund Other Project South Fulton GA

My husband and I went under contract with this contractor in the Spring of 2022 for a guy renovation of our home. We've done these types of projects before, but having recently moved to Georgia, we decided to leverage a local contractor. After getting multiple organizations, we made the unfortunate mistake of selecting Tillco Construction.

- Kema Tillman didn't pay his subcontractors, even though we advanced him portions of future payments on multiple occasions (I'll never make that mistake again, no matter the sob story). Some of these subs were his friends and family members, which I had to pay out of pocket after he was fired from our project and ran off with our money. This cost us over $20,000 to rectify .

- Kema Tillman had a subcontractor call us about a missing payment, even after I provided proof that Kema was paid. That person eventually put a lien on our property, which I was able to successfully contest

- Kema Tillman kept an extremely sloppy work site and his workers were stealing from one another and him

- Kema Tillman cut corners; there were many basic things that he allowed to be done incorrectly until we called him out on it and required them to be fixed

- Though we were told our project was a priority, Kema Tillman consistently went days and weeks without working on our property

- Basic hygiene and worker protections were not adhered to; workers were relieving themselves in our backyard or neighboring properties

- Our home was left unsecured on multiple occasions, to the point where we had to take over opening and closing the propert because Kema and his team couldn't do it competently.

- I was the day-to-day contact and when we had a disagreement, Kema would complain to my husband about me "fussing" or how "women are unreasonable"

I have recorded messages and emails that I will gladly share with any homeowner or business that has been scammed by this businessman who supposedly was a cop and mortgage lender in a previous life. He also goes by JBs Roofing and does work in Florida under Georgia License Numbers GCLT-CO000258 and GCLT-QA000258.
