Ken Schaller PICI Investments Helen Schaller Negligence, disregard for building safety Cambridge Ontario

I contacted Ken Schaller from Cambridge, Ontario one evening in July of 2019. My concern was regarding one of his properties located in Woodstock, Ontario which in my opinion, had been neglected.

Kids had broken into it, broken glass was everywhere as well as graffiti. I felt it was quite dangerous. Boards with nails sticking out. The building is nine stories tall and I worried that the kids using it as a hang out could potentially fall. They’d already smashed out a ninth floor window to allow themselves access to the roof. Alcohol and heights is not a good mix.

Ken answered and asked who I was, and I explained my concerns to him. Ken then responded, “It’s already cost us $1,000 in plywood.” Given the limited number of windows, I felt this was an exaggeration and also felt that Ken was dismissed my concerns. The conversation then took a downward turn.

Ken: Who is this?
Me: I told you, my name is ...
Ken: Where are you from?
Me: I’m from Cambridge.
Ken: What’s your interest with this property?
Me: Liability. Someone could get hurt.
Ken: Who do you represent?
Me: I’m a concerned citizen.
Ken: Who do you work with?
Me: (frustrated) None of your business
Ken: Go f--- yourself

This was certainly a non-professional approach. I did some research and learned that Ken’s mother had passed away in 2019 at the age of 58. This certainly would put Ken at a young age, and his lack of professionalism could be attributed to his youth?

30 seconds later I received a phone call from the same number I’d phoned Ken at. Ken said, “My investigators are going to have your personal information within an hour.”

I laughed and hung up.

I then received several text messages from Ken from his number.

“Sleep well tonight”
“You’re one sick f*cker but I’m an even sicker f*cker”
“I have ex-military guys who will find you”

What kind of a businessman was this? Ken Schaller it seems, was partnered with his now deceased mother as a property manager. He’s currently in negotiations with the City of Woodstock to build a large apartment complex on Ferguson Drive.

Several more threatening messages came through. I explained to Mr. Schaller that no, he would not “find me” and that I would sleep quite well. What began as a concerned citizen phone call turned into subtle threats.

His property is a liability but he seems too interested in purchasing new ones to care about risks. The vulgar language from this guy including racial slurs found online is disgusting.
