Jean Marc LOPEZ was a friend, or so I thought.

And it was when I read a complaint against him that I decided to write.

Mr Jean Marc Lopez came to my company about ten years ago. He wasn't producing. He'd had a windfall thanks to an Italian who had a bank, and from there he sold financial products. According to what I've read, there were some bad investments. Jean Marc took advantage of the situation because he bought an apartment in the name of his mother and his sister in order to hide his name. Which is already revealing. Jean Marc is French, pied noir, from the Maghreb. He says he has a degree in economics. I don't know about that, but what I do know is that he hasn't worked in years and lives from renting out his apartment. From time to time, he goes to his mother's in France or stays in a hotel while he rents.

In short, to help this boy - and I do mean help, because he's been under the weather for years - we did an operation with one of my customers. One, fortunately! We gave him $90,000 to buy oil wells in Kentucky. We never got $1 back, and it's been 7 years. Of course, filing a complaint and hiring lawyers would have been very expensive, and he knows it. That's what he's playing for. You know, there's this kind of joker who, to take money from you, makes you sign a 200-page contract specifying that if there's no oil, the well is no good, etc.... You can scratch your head for a long time. It's a planned swindle.

But that's not what I'm after.

It's the way he is! When he came to my house, he was checking out my 25-year-old secretary, now he's almost 60... He's short and bald... a far cry from Alain Delon. It's fine for him to do karate, he used to watch Bruce Lee when he was a kid. You have to compensate. He also shoots guns... lol. In short, he's a caricature!

When I asked him what happened to the $90,000. He didn't answer, but he attacked me seriously.

He reproached me for taking a margin on this business because I was a reseller in this transaction. He also accused me of selling to a friend. Curious is not as interpretation and for a gentleman who came to my office and ate at my home, at my table. 

He also graciously used my wife's MLS broker. So for a man who fancies himself with an apartment in Brickell and a '90s Bentley, I must admit I was surprised by the man. We live in the USA! If you buy a property in foreclosure and sell it even to a friend, who considers the price attractive, how does that concern another person on the profit margin you're taking? We're not communists here, unless Mr. LOPEZ has transposed the rules. In France, people are communists, but not Americans and especially not Jean Marc LOPEZ. I've waited years to file this story, but if you want to do business with him, know that you're taking very big risks. And I'd like to make it clear that I've only done one deal with him. He just got married... Let's congratulate the kid.... lol
