Nevada Eye Consultants Asked that I put my licensed/registered Doctor approved service dog in car before my appointment. Reno Nevada

I was sitting the waiting room filling out the requested paperwork. My freshly washed and clipped, non shedding 25 lb service dog was quietly sitting in front of me and to my side. The dog has been to many appointments at many doctors' offices and is always very well behaved. I was approached by a lady that came from the back who did not introduce herself. She said that the doctor asked that I either put by service dog in the car or reschedule my appointment. At first I didn't know what to say. I finally asked her why? She said that he's doing surgery and he doesn't want the dog in there. I was confused. I explained that she is an actual trained service dog, not a therapy or comfort animal. She repeated that he didn't want the dog in the office. The temperature today is a high of 34 and because the dog doesn't shed (she doesn't have a lot of hair), the dog gets cold easily. Leaving her in the car is not an option. 

I decided to leave and not reschedule. I was humilated. I literally have never been treated like this before. I was too ashamed to look around at anyone in the room, I just got up and left. I had to walk back past a long reception desk, that is where I couldn't hold back the tears. I didn't chose to have a disablility. I had to walk past another mostly full waiting room crying, feeling terribly embarrassed that I had been tacitly asked to leave due to something that I have no control over.
