ORBITEL COMMUNICATIONS ORBITEL CABLE Refused to credit a $30 fee (habitually refuses any credits for outages) Maricopa City ARIZONA

This company excels in fantastic customer DIS-service. They just love to say NO and hardy ever call you back. NO is what they say to credits requested due to outages. NO is what they say when you tell them that their speed is down; they won't admit it.

I looked at Yelp reviews for ORBITEL moments before entering this one. It appears that many area residents share the same experiences that we are mentioning here, plus more.

What sparked this report follows:

My household has been a customer of theirs for about 10 years. No doubt they made a nice profit from our account during this period. They had a monopoly on cable internet service since Cox began laying fiber optic cable in Maricopa City.

On July 9, 2023 I made a payment on their website for the MRC. Today is July 30, 2023. Less than a week ago a man called me from their office saying that my payment was rejected. Hmmm. That seemed odd as it was an ACH withdrawal from our personal checking account. There was sufficient funds in the account to cover the bill. I received a text that read "$10 Late Fee +$30 fee for a payment that was rejected." Unreal! OK....I can see why the late fee was imposed since they claim to have not received our payment. That sort of makes sense. When I finally got through on the phone after seeing the text, a representative located in the Tucson area read a prepared script and could not keep her mouth shut to hear that I paid it. Ugh. The text received showed the "paid" month's money due plus the current month + $10 +$30!

She finally agreed to reverse the $10 late fee. However, she said NO to crediting the $30 other fee. How nice. Huh? She said even if she wanted to, the computer she was using would NOT allow it. Thus, we now know that Orbitel does NOT empower its representatives to help customers with its FLAT NO policy.

That is really amazing. I told her I will NOT pay it! She said that she would text her supervisor regarding the issue to explain the situation. Within seconds, she said she received a reply that was a NO. What else did I expect?

Well, here's another thing they do. We went onto their website to pay that REJECTED PAYMENT. It would NOT allow any other amount than the two moths PLUS the $30 other fee. We will never pay them on their website again. They always say GO PAPERLESS. Yet I issued a paper check from our bank for the one month. If their website has glitches, DO NOT USE IT TO PAY THEIR BILLS if you, unfortunately, have their service.

They serve Sun Lakes, Arizona also.

As stated, Cox is laying fiber optic cables in Maricopa City as I type this. As soon as they get to our house it's  BYE-BYE ORBITEL. We will switch immediately and Orbitel can go take a hike. Perhaps they should put up a sign on their door stating "OFFICE FOR RENT AS SOON AS COX CABLE HAS COMPETED LAYING THEIR FIBER OPTIC LINES."
