Organization of Competitive Bodies (Formerly Organization of Competitive Bodybuilding) Matthew Loy Shepley Matt Shepley OCB Natural bodybuilding show rip-off Frederick Maryland MD, AZ

I was told that the OCB was one of the best natural bodybuilding organizations around. That may’ve been the case a few years ago, but the owner of this Organization Matt Shepley is certainly one of the most difficult peopel to work with. 

When show day came, I was greeted by a guy at the check in desk. He barely looked at me, proceeded to process my number.  When I asked him about the order of the competitor meeting. He said something so softly that I could barely hear him with all the noise in the background. When I asked him to repeat it, he just went off on me! It was as if another person just stepped into his body! I was completely taken aback, and just starred at him hoping to make him uncomfortable enough to get a hold of himself. As I stood there he just glanced at the next person in line, and said next. I was stumped. I was by competing by myself, so I didn’t have anyone to talk to.

As I was sitting waiting for the competitor meeting, I struck up a conversation with a couple of people and when he was upfront for the meeting, I asked the person sitting next to me who it was. They said, that is the President of the OCB Matt Shepley. I told them what happened, and I was told he is a manic depressive bipolar, and to be careful of him. Boy! Were they right! When I did a search, I found this posting “…In closing, I apologize for such a long rant (I happened to be in a talkative mood)” (www.ironhistory.com) I guess this is when he was in his manic state!

A further serach has found Matt has been arrested a couple of times for destruction of property, obstructing of justice and there is a facebook post where someone fled a restraining order against him in Virginia. There are also reports from women competitors that claim he has made some ignorant and arrogant remarks using derogatory words such as “c**k-blocked” and was over-heard calling someone a “watermelon eating ni**er” Another competitor was approached by him to do a photo-shoot at his house. The guy apparently left because he was hitting on him, and suggesting sexual activity. Even though he is married he is trolling for young boys!

I contacted his his previous business partners, Kareem Pettaway and Doug Miller that at one time both used to call him friend, but because of his craziness they were forced to step away from him. You can see the evidence of this as he is the only person working for this organization. Yes, he has promoters, but they have very little contact with him. He does all the media, photos, polygraph exams. He is also the social media person. His 14, 100 followers has been questioned. The other day he posted he had 14K followers and the very next week it was 14,100. How do you get another 100 followers in a week!? 

I entered this show to win a pro-card. There is a lot of bs information that is not told to competitors. Such as if only 4 people are in your class, then no pro-cards will be rewarded! How do you advertise that a show is a Pro-qualifier, then change it becuase there is not enough competitors there. After the show, rather than walk up to him becuase of the previous response. I decided to contact him to let him know that I was not happy with the way he treated me, and that I was not going to continue to compete with his organization. I also requested a refund for the show as well as my yearly membership that I was forced to purchase to compete in the show. He basically told me to F*&^% Off!

There are far more better organizations to compete in, so I would strongly recommend that you go to other organizations!
