Paul Andolsek Colo Rooter Replaced Main line without a valid license or permits pulled Aurora Colorado

We hired Paul Andolsek who owns Colo Rooter to replace our main drain. When Paul came out on Saturday April 30th, he took all the measurements, scoped the line, had a lengthy discussion with me and my husband. Reviewed the warranty and the plan to place the clean outs at the edge of the yard near the sidewalk. Work was to begin on Monday May 2nd,2022. My husband took the day off of work to be there.

Paul Andolsek didn't show up until 11:00 am with his crew, originally supposed to be 2 workers, him and 1 other guy, they showed up with 4 people. The excavator they rented was too weak for the job. They went missing for 3 hours only to come back to say they couldn't do any more work that day.

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 (the next day) they come back with a stronger excavator and get to work. My husband arranged to get off work early. Paul and his crew were still at work at 6:00pm when we had to take our son to his baseball game (again had this been done all on Monday like was said, we wouldn't have run into this issue).

Paul said they were almost done, so trying to be respectful to their time and labor (against our better judgement) we paid him in full for his work in case they finished before we returned from the game. We pulled into our driveway about 8:30 pm to see two large PVC pipes sticking out of the middle of the yard along with a 15-20 foot long mound of dirt.

Never once did we discuss having the clean outs in the middle of the yard. Not once did we receive a phone call about a change of plans. Had this company and Paul had enough respect for their customers, a simple phone call could have been made to see if it was acceptable to do this instead of making the decision himself.

The cleanouts were supposed to be at the sidewalk, if that could not have been done then they should have been placed by the house. Who puts cleanouts in the middle of the yard, especially without talking to the homeowner first! They were still there at 8:30 at night and we expressed our disappointment, with no resolution.

  I have been trying to reach him, but he won't answer my calls, return my voicemails or return my text messages. Not to mention he could call my husband 5 times over a 20 minute span to see when he would be at the residence, but couldn't call about the clean outs. I am second guessing all the work that was done at this point.

The business card that was given to me was a business card for Paul for Roto Rooter. I tried calling Roto Rooter the morning of May 4th, 2022 and they informed me he no longer works there. I let them know he just did work on my property the day before, less than 12 hours ago and I was given this card. He has now been reported to the City of Aurora by Roto Rooter and when I reported him to the State Plumbing Board, come to find out his license (AP.0038182) is “pending” so he is doing work without a license, doubt he even pulled the permit or called Xcel to ensure they wouldn’t be digging up anything they shouldn’t.

I will continue to advise as many homeowners as I can about this terrible experience and to go with any other company than this one. This job will now cost us twice as much since we need to get someone out here to fix it and check to make sure what is underground was done properly because a business that doesn't return calls and performs this way is not to be trusted.
