• Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a heart disease. It is in All breeds of Cats, Dogs and even Humans. Sometimes it is genetic, and sometimes it is not. Some viruses can even cause it, or it can be passed down from a parent who is a carrier. There is no way to determine how a cat developed the heart disease once they have been diagnosed as HCM positive. If HCM is discovered, proper medication can prolong your cat's life. There is no such thing as an HCM free Cattery. If you research pedigrees and go back far enough, you will find relatives in all lines worldwide that are HCM positive. Responsible Sphynx breeders scan their cats to identify cats with HCM so that they can be removed from their breeding program. 
• Sphynx History
• In 1966 a domestic cat gave birth to a hairless kitten in Toronto Canada. It was discovered to be a natural genetic mutation and the Sphynx cat, as we know it today, came into existence. This cat and a few other naturally hairless cats have been found worldwide; produced by Mother Nature, they are the foundation for this unusual breed. Cat breeders in North America and Europe have bred the Sphynx to normal coated cats and back to hairless cats for more than thirty years. The purpose of selective breeding such as this was to create a genetically sound cat with a large gene pool and hybrid vigor. When properly bred, the Sphynx is a very robust breed without health or genetic problems.
• Sphynx Personality
• The Sphynx is an inquisitive, intelligent, and extremely friendly cat. Warm and soft to the touch, Sphynx cats frequently sleep with their owners under the covers. Sphynx love to greet every new person visiting the home, and most get along well with dogs and other pets. Because of their hairlessness, Sphynx tend to get cold but they are intelligent enough to find a warm place- usually a computer monitor, a sunny window, a television, or under a blanket with their owners. • General Description
• The intriguing Sphynx cat never fails to draw a reaction from people - some people love the bald, wrinkled look, some are fascinated by the cat, while others are less than enthusiastic. But for those that take the time to get to know the cat, a great treat is in store. Sphynx are not always totally hairless, and there are different degrees of “hairlessness.” There can be a fine down on the body which makes the cat feel like a warm peach. Some short hair is usually present on the nose, ears and sometimes on toes and tail. Seasonal and hormonal changes in the cat may also effect hair development. The texture of Sphynx skin has been compared to a suede hot water bottle or warm chamois. They are very warm to the touch that you may just want to cuddle up with them-especially in cold weather. Their toes are like fingers, and they use them that way as they investigate and play with everything that takes their curiosity.  First of all i would like to thank the familes that are doing reserch on breeders before they buy a kitten. My name is Ana from Purrxotics. I have been breeding for 9 years and have a lot of wonderful reviews and a great vet that recommends me every day. Lets keep in mind here that im working with living and precious kittens and even though i want everything to be perfect sometimes it doesn't work out like that, but i will always stick to my contract and stand behind my kittens. This you will see. Thank you for the "resolved- the breeder worked with me", Bryan. Im guessing you are Elindas attorney. Even though you put on here resolved its still online and still effects me.

Now i will try and keep things short and will also post supporting documents. 1. All kittens go home with a 30 day free health insurance. Elinda only activated the insurance for 1 kitten. She informed me days later she had issues activating the second policy and i immediately got in contact with the insurance manager. While in conversation with the insurance it was discovered elinda was dishonest about her trying to activate both and talking with representatives. Posted you will find the email with the manager in charge revealing that elinda only activated 1 policy and days later had called to activate the second one. Its policy that both insurance need to be activated 24hrs after kittens go home. 2. All kittens go home with a fresh physical exam and a letter of health signed by the vet stating the good health of the girls. These girls where seen the same day they flew home. They received a usda health certificate and a letter of health. Stating there good health. Now lets start with the time line of events just so everyone knows and can see how i stood to my contract even when with elindas attorney involved and the health of my girls was always my priority. I requested a letter by Elindas vet in several occasions. The documents she provided are a copy of "patient chart" (posted) the issue i have with these charts is that they state elindas opinion about the kittens. Per contract, and to move forward. I need a actual letter by the vet that states the current health of the girls, diagnosis and test that where done that confirms a diagnosis.

Which allow me to be loud on this ELINDA NEVER DID ANY TEST ON THE GIRLS. THE GIRLS WHERE NEVER GIVEN A PROGNOSIS OF A VIRUS IT WAS SPECULATION BY THE VET BECAUSE NO TEST WHERE DONE. after several requests for letter of health PER CONTRACT Elinda REFUSED TO SUBMIT A LETTER OF HEALTH. I'm NOT surprised that elinda preferred to contact her attorney (close friend of hers and came free of charge) rather than call the vet and have them write a letter. I always recommend the kittens fly with a pet nanny but Elinda agreed to have the girls fly a lone rather than waiting a week for the pet nanny. The girls where given a full physical exam for a letter of health and also a certificate of health that's required for flight the exact same day of flight validating the good health of the girls. Elinda was not sold sick kittens per the letter by the attorney meaning I'm was not in violation to implied warranty of merchantability under common law and under the Uniform Commercial Code. The kittens passed a full physical exam and received a signed letter of health by the vet and a health certificate signed by the vet as well.

All documents proving the kittens where in good health. Second, I informed elinda that I had remained at the airport until 8. I was not contacted until 11pm that night. Which was right before their flight when they found out about the "mechanical issues" 11 PM the first missed phone call I have from the airport. Concerning the "kittens not being feed" they ate before they where turned into delta and they where feed the next morning as well. So kittens did not go with out food. Dalta had possession of the kittens meaning they were responsible for the care while in there facility. Which they informed me that the kittens were taken out of the create for exercise. Delta did fail to take them to a overnight care facility as they informed elinda they would. The kittens where feed before the flight. They also had a kennel that exceeded the minimum requirements for a pet to be comfortable during flight along with a blanket and sweaters.

As soon as I learned about the girls and the failed flight I arrived with fresh food and stayed until the flight departed. The kittens were taken to the vet june 25 and presented themselves with upper respiratory, one with a teary eye. I advised per my experience with the breed for azythromax which was not followed or recommended to the vet. After learning the antibiotic prescribed was amoxicillin I advised that if elinda didn't see improvement in 3 days to return to the vet and let him know the antibiotics are not working but elinda failed to do so. (Text screenshot posted) Instead Kittens finished the antibiotics with no improvement on July 2 and where not seen by the vet again until July 9.

When they were supposed to be seen by the vet 3 days later if no improvement from those antibiotics was observed. Elinda failed to give prompt treatment and only returned to the vet after my many requests. July 4 I received a email from elinda that the girls showed no improvement with the antibiotics prescribed and to request a refund, threatening with your attorney that comes free of charge. I adviced to take them in to the vet again and recommend azythromax and advised to taken them back to the vet which was not done until July 9. Which then again another antibiotic was prescribed with NO TESTING done to determine the correct antibiotic needed to treat the infection or the tearful eye (sign of eye infection). The vet prescribed eye drops as well but no test where performed to identify the bacteria to give appropriate antibiotics for treatment. Resulting in a on going INFECTION AND NO PROPER TREATMENT.

On July 26 elinda finally agreed to get a second opinion on the girls. Which was NOT done. On August 18 ELINDA reached out to me requesting money back AGAIN because the girls still showed symptoms. I then asked about the second opinion that ELINDA HAD agreed SHE would get but REFUSED TO. On August 19 AFTER MY MANY REQUESTS ELINDA agreed again on a second opinion and informed me that I will get a health letter by the vet concerning the girls. WHICH WAS NEVER RECEIVED. The girls where not seen AGAIN until August 27 FROM JULY!!! . The health letter by the vet was not provided and in its place a "patient chart" copy was emailed with "o" opinions on the kittens health. "O" meaning Elinda opinion on the kittens health. Now per a signed and agreed upon contract. The kittens where seen by the vet with in the appropriate time period. No life threatening illness or congenital defect was found. They presented themselves with upper respiratory which ELINDA failed to treat in a timely manner. Per contract if something is found at the time of visit a letter of health is required along with a second letter of health by another vet.

To this day no letter of health has NEVER been provided. In the event that the kittens did have a life threatening condition or congenital defect the kittens would been replaced. Which per contract buyer is responsible for shipping the kittens back. I'm was willing to replace the kittens even though no letter of health has been provided and no congenital defect or life threatening condition was found. Or since I know how difficult it must be to part with a pet. I OFFERED TO COMPENSATE 1/3 of the kittens purchased price. ELINDA REFUSED TO RERURN THE KITTENS WHICH I UNDERSTOOD AND OFFERED COMPENSATION AND ADVICE. --- "My advice if you decide to keep the girls would be to treat with azythromax and follow up with a 3 way core vaccination for respiratory viruses. Sometimes even though kittens are vaccinated they can still get the virus that they are vaccinated against, and this is no ones fault.

There is a lot of studies concerning this matter. It's all linked with the mothers immunity and the kittens having a passive immunity of the mother still when kittens are vaccinated. At six weeks of age, 25% of the puppies could be immunized. At 9 weeks, 40% of the puppies were able to respond to the vaccine and were protected. The number increased to 60% by 16 weeks, and by 18 weeks, 95% of the puppies could be immunized. If a similar study was performed in kittens, it too would demonstrate variations in the length and timing of their windows of susceptibility."

My advice is to treat the girls with azythromax as soon as treatment is over do a distemper vaccination which will give immunity to the viruses causing upper respiratory infections. It will take an estimate of 30 days for a kitten to build immunity to such viruses after being vaccinated." Elinda preferred to contact an attorney to get money back for the kittens that SHE STATED HAD A LIFE THREATENING CONDITION but no proof (letter of health was provided) . I offered compensation. I did asked for a letter of health by the vet that to this day was never done. This ripoff report was in the attorneys demand letter stating that a bad review will come if i didnt compensate or refund money for the return of the girls. Which i agreed to if there was a letter of health signed by the vet stating the kittens poor health. This was the agreement. I waited for a letter that never arrived. I only received a email from elinda telling me to never contact her and she will care for the girls.

Next thing i know this ripoff thing is up. I immediately contacted her attorney and informed him that elinda NEVER TURNED IN A LETTER OF HEALTH. ELINDA refused to return the kittens for full refund and refused to turn in letter of health stating the girls supposably "life threatening condition". SHE NEVER did tests on the girls. And i was the one pushing to take them in to the vet after HER vet prescribed a antibiotic mostly used for DEWORMING. No one is perfect i work with families every day and its my priority that you have healthy kittens but there are things that are out of my hands that i can not control. But i will do my best and always follow my contract and stand behind my kittens.

ALL OF THIS COULD HAD BEEN AVOIDED IF ELINDA WOULD HAD FOUND A VET WITH EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE ON THIS BREED. ELINDA WOULD HAD FOLLOWED MY ADVICE REGARDING THE ANTIBIOTICS INSTEAD SHE GAVE THE ANTIBIOTICS THAT ARE MOSTLY USED FOR DEWORMING. IF ELINDA WOULD HAD BEEN ABLE TO PROPERLY MEDICATE THE KITTENS. POSTED IS A CHART BY THE VET STATING THAT ELINDA WAS NOT ABLE TO PROPERLY MEDICATE THE KITTENS AND A VERY STRONG ANTIBIOTIC SHOT WAS GIVEN THAT PER THE COMPANY THAT CREATED CONVENIA ITS ONLY FOR SKIN INFECTIONS. I stand behind my kittens and my contract. If a kitten is not in good health all i ask is proof by a letter of health signed by the vet. This was not done here. Instead an attorney was hired. All supporting documents are posted.

The breeder worked with me and we came to a resolution.
