We recently stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Coconut Creek, Florida for over three and a half months while our home was being renovated. The bill came out to around $40,000, and we expected to earn some Bonvoy Points as part of our loyalty program. However, trying to recoup those points has been a miserable experience that I feel the need to warn others about.

Our insurance company modified our claims to make accommodations, and we chose Marriott based on our positive experiences with the brand in the past. We thought that staying at a Marriott hotel would help us see some light in an otherwise dark situation. However, our stay at the Residence Inn in Coconut Creek quickly turned into a nightmare.

First of all, our bill was outrageous. We had a $70,000 mold policy, and it cost us $45,000 to stay at the hotel for a few months.
