Toot Sweets Bakery Monica Graves Anthony Johnson Check fraud. Late payments. Tried to withhold my last paycheck and would not pay the Penalty Fees for being almost one month late to bestow my last check. Stockton California

Worst place to work. Pay is Bi Weekly but yet checks are either always late or paid through the course of 3  or more days in cash/zelle either straight from the register or through a personal account from the boss. Checks almost always bounce and employees end up having to pay the bounce fee most of the time.

When I decided to quit because my bills were struggling with the late pay, I sent a resignation through text on March 8th. Since then I have repeated asked when to pick up my last check. No response from the boss lady or her husband. Repeatedly. This went on for a couple weeks.

Finally, I decided to come in person with other workers who also had not been paid to get my check and I received it on March 28. Went to go cash out the check on April 2 only to find that the banker could not do it. 

I sent the boss a final text message about what was owed to me (my last check and the California Labor Code Penalty fees) but only after I said that I'd take proper legal measures did she respond. I was sent my last check in full on March 3rd, but was still owed $2576 in penalty fees for the 23 days that she refused to give me my last paycheck and that is not including the 72hr grace period that California Law requires for an employee to recieve their last pay upon quitting. 

As a result of her untimely manner to pay her employees and refusal to give me my last paycheck and due Labor Code Penalty Fees, I am now struggling to pay bills and my credit score has plummeted.
