USHOMEDATA.com CAAS Holdings Group LLC Suckered me into some sort of recurring membership service Mar Vista California

I googled home values in my area and was refered to an affiliate site of ushomedata.com providing home values in my area.  I was trying to figure out what the market value of my home is to put it up for sale.

I cannot recall the exact website but the url is not ushomedata.com. It offered me a value report for $1.00

In order to receive the report I had to agree to pay by credit card the $1.00.  In return I received a real time value report that was the exact same information that was on Zillow.com for free.  In fact it was Zillows Page with a couple of edits in order to get around a copyright infringement.  

Ok I fell for it.

What I did not expect was to see that I was enrolled into some sort of recurring membership charge of $18.95 that hit my credit card two days later.  I protested the charge and reported the fraud to my bank.

This morning I opened my credit card bill and there was the charge again for this company. It hit me today that it must be some kind of membership scam.

I got a number for ushomedata.com. I called and after twenty minutes on hold, A woman -whom sounded like she was in a call center - told me that I had siigned up for a membership plan that would give me unlimited home value data reports for only $18.95.  She was trying to resell me the plan!  I explained to her that I went on their website and only agreed to the initial $1.00 valuation report. I wanted the plan cancelled and the charges reversed.

After some back and forth they agreed to cancel the membership and reverse this month's charge.  They did not refund the last month's charge.

I believe this is a shady operation.  They lure you unwittingly into a information services scam using data they co opted from another reputable company's data.
