In Dec. 2021 XW Kitchen and Bath owner Ken and I signed a deal for $13,000 to remodel a small bathroom. Take out the one piece shower and bath , make it just a shower, take out the soffit, tile the shower pan, walls and floor, change the toilet, replace the single vanity with a double and quartz top, plumb for 2 sinks, add a vent, paint and remove all garbage. All of this was written out in the contract. I gave a deposit for $6500 so I could be scheduled for work in February.

On February 24th, 2022 the demolition started, within 1 week everything was ripped out. The garbage bags were piled up in my driveway. Every week Ken said he would pick them up, but they stayed there for 2 months until I started to dispose of them.

To start the work Ken asked for the second installment in cash, $3900. This was to assure us that everything was ordered. The work was started on the plumbing and the electrical first. After the plumbing was done I asked to test it and it leaked out the drain into the basement. It had to be replumbed twice.

The electrical was claimed to be done but didn't work and had to be redone by a liicensed electrician. Ken kept lying to us telling us the tile was on order and it's not in yet. Weeks went by and we called the tile shop to see if it was ordered and it never was. Went over to his showroom and confronted him and he ordered it in front of us.





When the shower pan was done, I could see it was wavy and asked the owner Ken to come over and see it. When he saw it he immediately said it needed to be ripped up and done over. Ken did not have enough tile to do it over so he said he would order it. 

Ken sent over another worker to do the shower pan and again it was done incorrectly as all the water would not drain. It had to be ripped up again. Ken needed to order more tile and he said he would. Weeks went by and no tile for the shower pan. Ken had a new worker come over and start on the wall tile since the floor tile was on order and coming in the next day.

There wasn't enough wall tile to finish and Ken needed to order more. The floor tile which was picked right out of his showroom was never on order and Ken told us we had to now go over to floor decor and pick a new tile. That was the only place he would buy from now.  Weeks went by with him not answering the phone or workers showing up. When we did speak at 8am, he would tell me his worker is coming but would never show up.

Ken never ordered more tile. I finally went over to the tile shop and picked it up and paid for it myself so there was no excuse for the work not to continue. Weeks went by and he finally finished the tile. I asked about the shower doors and the two sink cabinet, Ken said the cabinet was in his warehouse and would bring it over the next day.

The cabinet has not shown up and neither have the shower doors which he promised he had as well. The toilet is not in, the vent isn't plumbed out, no cabinet or sinks, no fixtures for the shower, no fixtures for the sinks and he hasn't finished painting.

It's June 1, 2022, 3 months later and he won't answer my calls or texts. Last time I spoke to him 10 days ago, Ken promised if the job was not completely done within the week, he would give me $5000 back so I could get someone else to finish the job. He has lied to me every step of the way. I'm warning my fellow homeowners about this company and owner Ken. Read the reviews, I'm not the only one getting ripped off.

mail copies of your Ripoff Report to all of your Local TV News Stations and put it to the attention of “Investigative Reporter”. Also mail a copy to your Attorney General immediately.
