Joe Contarino and Jeff Petry are basically partners in Contry Homes and Maplecrest Construction. They are also owners of Midcor Supply, which supplies all of the materials for their so called homes. How ironic is that.
We learned the hard way and had purchased a Contry Home. We had nothing but problems. It was a total nightmare. We lived in this so called house for about 8 months and had to sell and get out for our own sanity. Contry Homes refused to fix anything and that it was all cosmetic and not covered under warranty.

He uses subs that nobody else wants.

Some of the problems we had were:
1) Major cracks in foundation
2) Heaving walls that seperated at the ceiling
3) Drafts everywhere ($450.00/month heating bills)
4) Moisture between the panes of glass on the windows
5) No sump pump (a code issue)
6) Pine door shims in beam pockets (a code issue)
7) Interior doors would no shut (about a month after closing)
8) Chunks of concrete liftin up on basement floor
9) Frost on baseboards in winter

I could go on and on, but I'm just glad we sold the house and took our loss.

We even had the local Building Inspector advise us that the best thing we could do is sell and move. What was this all about, he is the one that passed it. It's pretty bad when the Building Inspector tells you you should move. Why would you sign-off on a new home, as the Inspector, when you know there are many items that do not meet code. I think there is some funny money being passed from these developers to the inspectors.

I would tell everyone "Buyer Beware". These guys are real scum.
There is no Customer in Contry.

House is Falling Apart

AUTHOR: family4 - ()

POSTED: Sunday, April 14, 2013

My house was built in 2006 and I am the second owner that purchased it in 2007.  It's a Maplecrest home built by Joe Contarino and Jeff Petry.  Using their supply company Midcor Supply.

1.Our first problem was water leaking in our house on our first floor across the whole back side of the house.  The kitchen , eating area and living room had water about 12 inches wide of water damage where the ceiling and the wall met.  This was due to the house not being wrapped and the siding was not put on correctly.  The siding was taken off to find the plywood  spaced apart which left gaps.

2.Shower stalls have no base underneath them causes them to creek and crack while stepping in them.

3. Snow coming in our house at the baseboards.  Covered in Frost.

4. Windsor Windows  finally got replaced in 2013.  They were drafty , causing them to ice up in the winter on the inside of the house.  Water damage all along the trim.

5. Front step and sidewalk crumbling apart had to be replaced in 2011.

6. Driveway sinking and still sinking.

7. Doors not plum and level , doors don't stay shut and are full of shims.

8. Cracks all over the walls.

9. Cracks in basement floor and garage floor.

10. Floors creek when walking on them.

11. Furnace shakes the first floor of the house.

12. No sump pump

I am sure I have forgotten something that should be on this list.... Buyer Beware they are crooks....

Contry and Petry built homes are a joke! I have to say buying a Petry built home was the biggest mistake of my life! You are affiliated with them thats why you say they are great! Petry & Contry is just a big scam ripping people off with there poorly and cheaply built homes. There in it just to rip people off period. That's a fact! (((ROR redacted)))

Conrty Homes are GREAT!!

AUTHOR: M - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 31, 2007

I am a owner of a Contry home. I think it is the best built home in the area. Is shows by how many are sold each year. To respond to some idiots on here. If your home was built several years back house wrap was NOT standard. You had the choice to upgrade to house wrap, sump pump, etc if you built the home. If you didn't pay for the upgrade's it was you fault for being cheap trying to save a few bucks and than later blaming it on the builder. Cracks in the foundation and walls. Have you ever heard of that a house does settle?? Making sure the concrete doesn't crack did you install your dehumidifier?? Probally not, because you were lazy and cheap. Basment leaking it was probally the grade in the land,no yard, etc. Why is it that if someone see's a crack in the basement they get scared. Don't you realize that a foundation had many rods of rebarb in it(steel rods) to keep it from moving? Why does our roads have to have stress cuts every 20 feet? We live in the worse climate for concrete. If you have a way to make concrete not crack you should market it you would me a millionare. It just make's me laugh when all of the sudden a homeowner becomes a building inspector,or contractor. I took science class in high school, but that doesn't make me a scientist. The best advice I can give people is look at how many happy people are out there with there homes. Look at how many are bulit every year. If we were so bad whay do we keep on selling?? Talk with a Rep of contry or maplecrest or amy builder. I can give you many good reasons to buy a Contry home. Beaware of IDIOTS out there who have no clue what there talking about.
