I got one ordered for me for $39.00 plus $8.00 shipping, so by the time it got to me it is almost $50.00 for a 750 ml bottle of juice. I had the pure acai berry when I visited the Amazon, and the juice has the purple acai color and a little hint of acai, it taste more like grape fruit juice.

It is good juice, but I would not pay this much money for it, it is OVERPRICED. If it is under $20.00 maybe I would keep buying it!!! hey if you are rich, you can afford this for sure.

Shellfish?

AUTHOR: LL - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, February 27, 2010

I am very sorry to hear of your reaction that sent you to the hospital. I have had health problems for the past thirty years, several times going to the hospital with similar reactions, and I sincerely empathize. It is never a good experience to be vomiting for several days, and vomiting blood. That is something I have way too much experience with.  I am highly allergic to shellfish of all types, and I have been using Mona-Vie products for about 16 months now. I have not had any reactions to any of the Mona-Vie juices I have consumed. If there was any shellfish, even in trace amounts, I would have had a servere reaction by now that would have sent me to the hospital.  To be completely frank, Mona-Vie is the only substance that has offered me any relief to the servere pain I have suffered, and I have tried so many, both from doctors and 'alternative' sources. As I stated, I have much empathy for you over your experience, but I think that your reaction was not to anything that is in the Mona-Vie products. If there was any trace of shellfish in the Mona-Vie products, I would have been in the hospital long ago. Truthfully, since I have started taking the Mona-Vie juices, I am healthier than I have ever been in my life.

Setting the record straight on Mona Vie

AUTHOR: Naomi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 30, 2009

First off....to the original poster....you may have saved yourself money had you contacted a distributor. Many will offer a free bottle for you to try for a week, which is how long one bottle will last if you follow instructions.

Second....there are no added sugars in the juice blend, which is clearly stated on the label.

Third....pubmed.org is a fantastic resource for those who like to look at research and data. There have been numerous papers written on the antioxidant power of the fruits used in the Mona Vie blend. One such paper states that one particular antioxidant was shown to kill human HL60 leukemia cells in vitro. Mind you, this was just an in vitro study and the paper clearly stated that whether or not the same model would hold true in the human body could not be determined, and that it warranted further study.

Fourth....the number one ingredient in the Mona Vie juice blends is acai. Again, clearly stated on the label.

Fifth....according to Federal labeling laws, all ingredients and allergy warnings must be listed on the label within or near the nutrition label. There are NO ingredients that would indicate that there are fish proteins used in the blends. However, there is a warning for palm nuts, so if you are allergic to tree nuts, or nuts in general, don't drink it.

Sixth....the Pulse blend has an FDA approval on the label for use in treating high cholesterol. The Active and pulse both contain glucosamine, which is often purchased OTC for the treatment of ailing joints.

On a personal note....I am 40 years old. I have the health record of someone who is twice my age. I am also a former EMT who ended up with lumbar facet syndrome, a painful disorder as a result of a lifting injury. I lived for two years in constant, unrelenting pain with physical limitations that left me depressed. No treatments my doctors gave me worked. I tried Mona Vie out of desperation, but thought that it would fail miserably as well. I was wrong. After three weeks, I can honestly say that I feel fantastic. I had forgotten what it was like to not be in agony day after day, and my other health issues are coming under control.

Is it pricey? Yes, but in my opinion, well worth it! If you're going to do something, do it right and don't go halfway about it. And as a side note about the price....the cost is considerably higher due to the process that is used to maintain the integrity of the antioxidants. When foods, any foods, are cooked, essential vitamins and antioxidants lose their strength because of the heat. Mona Vie uses a freeze drying process, which is patented, which causes the antioxidant levels to remain at a near pristene state.

Doctor Who?

AUTHOR: Papa Linus - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 24, 2008

Every nutritional supplement out there has medical support from somewhere. Chris, you said you are a doctor....what kind of doctor? MD, DO, DC, DP? I am not saying you are not a scientist, but to drop 'doctor' with no other information is not helpful.

I get a kick out of how everyone who is a proponent or opponent of these new high powered juices says to 'look at the science.' Well, antioxidant benefits aren't unimportant, but they haven't been proved to do anything as far as I can read. After all these years Vitamin C is now NOT helpful in avoiding colds?

Bottom line for me is that the mental aspect of good health will lead people to 'feel better' when they believe in what they are consuming. Whether it is physiological, mental or both is immaterial. But to say 'look at the science' is not a rational recommendation. You want to believe the studies that say antioxidants do this or that, believe it. Who am I to tell you you are wrong?

That said, I think the bottom line is if you like educating people about a product, getting people to go to meetings to explain how it has worked out for The Few, go for it. If I like a product, as I like PrePaid Legal, I use it. If someone needs it, I tell them about it or even sign them up that that's what they want. $26/month. If I liked MonAvie enough to spend $80+ per month for it I would become an associate to get the pricing. The whole Network/Multi-Level thing isn't for me - I enthusiastically dislike the activities associated with network marketing, but that's just me.

But it doesn't mean everyone is a ripoff artist who sells it. And if I feel better drinking MonAvie or Mystique or whatever, that doesn't mean it is really the product making me feel better, and it doesn't mean it isn't. It is simply what you believe.

My problem with it is when people take the product and tell everyone how much better it feels but, in reality, it is the compensation plan that makes them 'feel better' because they see a way to make money that makes sense to them. I would rather have people say "it helps some people, doesn't help others, but if you can find enough people that want to use it you can make some money selling it" I would like it better. This idea that you are 'helping people' is so much multi-level mumbo-jumbo. You are helping YOU. That's the motivation. If there was less twisting of the truth among network marketers then maybe this approach to moving product would become a respected industry. As it is, most people think it is the New Amway and, in reality, they aren't that wrong.

Full disclosure: I am a non-practicing, but highly satisfied customer, of Prepaid Legal. I tried the Shaklee thing in the 1980's and some people told me the felt better. My mother used it for years, ran 3-5 miles a day, ate correctly, and died before my father who pigged out at Taco Bell every day before the diabetes he did virtually nothing to control finally did him in.

So there you have it. People - 'doctors' and commoners - stay away from the brainwashing and make a business decision. You want to 'look at the science,' then do so. But 'the science' doesn't really prove anything. If you like selling the product and you want to make money coercing people into joining so they can auto-order product - if that is your thing - do it. Just don't tell everyone about the big opportunity they are missing out on because 'helping' is in the eye of the beholder.

MonaVie works, get the facts

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 19, 2008

For you sceptics and misinformed listen up. Saying that monavie has more or the same amount of sugar in it then a can of coke is ignorant. It is simply untrue.

It is also ignorant to call MonaVie the "Amway" of the 2000's. MonaVie is distributed through a network or Multi Level Marketing. So is pampered chef, southern living at home, cabi clothes, and hosts of other products. The fact is that in the very near future most American households will have some connection to Network Marketing. Either by consumption or distribution.

MonaVie is a high caliber liquid nutritional supplement backed by many leading healthcare providers already. I am one of them, and yes I am a doctor. If you do your research you will find that very few Americans get the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables in their diet. By drinking 4 oz. of this product a day you are getting the equivalent antioxidants and phytonutrients found in 13 servings of fruit. This IS a claim that the company makes and stands behind.

MonaVie does NOT claim to cure cancer or for that matter cure anything at this time. The simple fact is this. Put the appropriate fuel into your body and your body is designed to run like a top. Put crap in your body like fast food and processed garbage and your body will fail and age at an exponetial rate. Dont believe me, look at what the statistics say.

There are also other supplements distributed through Multi Level Marketing and otherwise that are excellent sources of nutrition. The bottom line is that just because a product is distributed in MLM does not mean it is a scam, ripoff, or overpriced.

If you think that reading through a blog on the internet, or listening to your neighbor suddenly makes you an expert on a product like MonaVie, its time to wake up. Before you decide to post misinformation about a product you know little to nothing about, I urge you to think twice. Do some real research and think with your mind not your emotions.

Mona Vie = Amway in a bottle!!!

AUTHOR: Johnny J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 29, 2008

Mona Vie is the 2000's version of Amway, only this time, it's in a bottle. The people making millions from the is fruit juice are the first 100 people involved in this pyramid scam. Don't be scammed. By a juicer and visit your favorite grocery store for fruit. Create your own juice, with much better taste, and save about $40. Charging over $40 for a bottle of fruit juice is a scam in itself. Don't be fooled.

Yes, it's full of antioxidants, some saying more than 1000 ORAC value. However, stating that it can cure cancer and other diseases is not proven, obviously. Don't be mislead into believing that this fruit juice is the answer to a terminal disease. Until medically and scientifically proven, listen to your medical professional and eat your apple a day, or other fruits or vegetables high in antioxidants.

..but you paid it...

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Hi Carole,

A couple of comments about Mona Vie, regarding what you said, and the rebuttal above mine (from Jennie.)

The bottom line here is, you PAID it. No-one forced you to. You paid $38 plus shipping for something you wanted to try. You tried it. It's clear you don't like it. Simply don't buy any more, but don't state it's a "Ripoff". The decision was YOURS. You need to own it.

Secondly, the so called "health benefits" of Mona Vie are, at best, disputable. The fruit juices, extracts, and pulp in Mona Vie, including the Acai Berry, probably do have some health benefits, but they tend to be overstated when compared to the real science. Do the research and decide for yourself.

Something to note: A bottle of Mona Vie has as almost as much sugar as a can of Coke. Mona Vie may also contain shell-fish extracts; not good if you're allergic.

There are currently over a dozen "miracle juices" being sold over the internet and via MLM set ups. Mona Vie is simply one of the newest.

Mona Vie is definitely NOT a rip-off

AUTHOR: Jennie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 21, 2008

Mona Vie may appear expensive at first but is well worth every penny. 4 ounces a day not only fulfills your daily requirement of fruit & veggies for the day but packs a mean anti-oxident punch. For me personally it has improved my sleep tremendously, stopped my gums from bleeding (I floss every day & have been a bleeder for as long as I can remember), eliminated my children's excema and significantly improved my son's allergies. For friends of mine it has reduced cholesterol levels significantly, eliminated recurring bladder infections and stopped MRSA staff infections from returning. This is not a juice but a supplement which will change your life. Perhaps, as reports state, it is also killing free radicals and cancer cells in your body as well. To me taking something like this on a daily basis is priceless. I just drink it but I do have friends that are actually making money from it. Why wouldn't you spend the money, a juice like this might prevent costly medical bills in the future.
