i purchased my chi flat iron from a salon. it wasnt cheap ,but the results me and my daughter got from using it seemed worth it. after the 2nd month using it the hinge was loose,which effected the grip it had on ur hair which didnt allow good straightening results,so i contacted the salon and she sent it in to be repaired. remember,theres a 1 yr. warranty. anyway....that was taken care of no problem.

but,7 months after that,(last week),only 9 months of useing it,it just decided it wasnt even gonna turn on anymore. WONT COME ON!

i contacted the salon,still under warranty,but she wouldnt help me. she said she already sent it in once to repair loose hinge. and she used my reciept to send it in. she said in order to send it in for warranty you have to have original reciept. i reminded her that i gave her my reciept to get hinge repaired. she said she couldnt help me.she wouldnt even try to resolve this or make a copy of my prior reciept. then she offered to sell me another one. she even said that they cost more now than when i purchased mine 9 months ago. even though at the web site they are actually selling now for 75.00 less than wut i paid for mine.

i contacted the company that makes chi.....they said for the warrenty i can send it in with my original reciept and they will either repair it or replace it. i explained to her the deal with my reciept,i told her the salon i bought it at,told her about the reciept being sent in first time for hinge....well,the robot customer service rep then just gave me an address of a repair company they use,told me i can send it in with a 35.00 fee to get it repaired....again.

i went to the original chi sales web site.....i was amazed at all the bad reviews that flat iron was getting. now i feel like i was a big sucker cuz i didnt search for reviews before i purchased such an exspensive flat iron.

i feel very cheated. me and my daughter are very upset,we both have unruley very curly hair and that iron did so much for us and became our most valuable asset. now we are at a loss for the money and at a loss of the iron.

i would like to know why these things just stop working after less than a year considering they are so exspensive.....you'd think if they cost that much,they would be more reliable and be made from high quality materials and crafstmanship.

i wouldnt reccoment this flat iron to anyone ever again. i used to brag about this iron...but now,since it doesnt after after having it 9 months,i have nothing good to say anymore. i've owned cheap irons that are still working after many years.

lesson to learn...JUST BECAUSE IT COST MORE..DOESNT MEAN IT IS A BETTER PRODUCT.

I want to let anyone else know who has read this, My boyfriend has damaged my chi, that I purchased online. I knew he damaged it and I am willing to pay to have it fixed. Well Farouk will not repair it because they say any of their products purchased online are counterfit. I did find a company that will repair it:salonart.biz

I love my chi and I bought a brand new one at JC Penney.
