On May-15 2008, I purchased an item (item number: 250247334404) on Ebay from a seller tomat-taiwan. I paid for the item via PayPal. Shortly after being shipped from Taiwan, I received the item in the mail in a poorly packaged box. The item was damaged and the unit did not work. I email the seller, but did not receive a reply. I emailed again and still no reply. After a week I decided to file a claim with PayPal. The day after filing, the seller emailed back requesting the item to be shipped back to the address provided.

A few days later I shipped the item back via USPS first class. Shipping the item back with tracking was very costly ($26.50 USD) and chose the $17.00 shipping. A few weeks later I email the seller and ask if the item was received. Seller replied acknowledging the item was received and ask which I wanted. I decided for a refund because communication was very slow and the PayPal dispute was going to expire if I do not escalate to the next level.

A few days later the seller had Paypal to request the item sent back and provide a tracking number or the dispute will be canceled. I email Paypal that the item was already sent back and sent a copy of the email that the seller said the item was already received. PayPal went ahead and canceled the dispute in the favor of the seller. PayPal refuse to continue due to no tracking number. The email from the seller meant nothing to PayPal. This processes took over a month.

So basically the seller had no intention in exchange or refund. The seller did have a return policy on the auction site, but it obviously means nothing. The seller now has the item and my money. The seller lied to PayPal about not receiving the item and I believe the seller is a scammer selling junk with no returns or refunds and a thief. Dont waist your time or money bidding on this seller. You are taking a chance on buying junk. I was hoping the seller will make good on this whole thing considering the feedback was pretty good. But I was wrong and ended up dealing with a junk dealer. I would stay away from Ebay user tomat-taiwan. I gave the seller one last chance, but simply ignored emails.

As for PayPal I deleted my banking information from them since I wont be using their service indefinably. From my point of view it is no safer then sending cash.

However, I will continue to shop on Ebay but only stick with established sellers.
