This company is baiting people to preorder a game while refusing to provide any detailed information about the game. This type of scam is starting to be seen more often in the internet gaming business.
Scam requires a game developer that has worked on published games to start their own company. They then promise a state of the art product that has never been seen before.
They do interviews with the gaming press in order to attract interest in their product. They show very few examples of their game, but continue to promise.
They make sure to keep information about the game somewhat updated to string people along, while never giving any concrete evidence that their product actually exists as claimed.
In the case of this company, they refuse to give any solid information about the game, but have stated that there will give people to opportunity to preorder the game if they want to try it.
Being that they are promising potential buyers the greatest game of all time, they will be sure to get a few thousand people in the world to preorder a game for approx. $50.
Dark and Light is an example of a game that has done this same exact thing in the past. These companies will not give refund and are basically getting paid for nothing.
The amount of work that has been put into this game will in no way reflect what they have promised.
Thousands of people seem to feel that even if the game is a ripoff, which it most likely is, the chance that it might deliver as promised is worth the loss of $50.
Business like this cannot be allowed to continue, people need to be informed. As it stands now, there has been no major consumer warning against this type of scam.
These companies will just continue to scam people unless something is done.

My question is, if all these people are "playing" Darkfall, and YOUTUBE is so full of videos of playing Darkfall, then why am I getting charged when it is always sold out? I hate to break it to all of you, this IS a scam! When you pay to play a game, and cant even access it, lmao, that's a scam. Plain and simple. get over it. This is all one big scam. They have no way of contacting them, no phone numbers, nothing. What are they hiding from if this isn't a scam? Yes, I wanted to play this game, No, i cannot due to the game probably NOT even existing in America anyway. Aventurine SA? Where are you, and how do i get in touch with you to get MY hard earned cash back? or let me play the game. So if you are just going to let a couple people play this game, then why charge everyone who signs up for it? Final Vote: scam. I want a refund....

I have personally beta-tested and extensively played this game. The game was made available for sale to beta testers on Feb. 21, 2009 and was made available for sale to the general public on Feb. 25, 2009.
Although the game is having launch issues, every game has launch issues. This game is in fact legitimate and also happens to be quite fun to play.

Server issues are to be expected during any MMO launch. The game is more polished than most MMO's that have been out for years. It has a completely unique featurelist found in no other games. The company explained publicly that there was going to be a limited initial release mainly restricted to preorders.
They opened preorders to beta users first, and the response was so overwhelming that they literally crashed the order-processing server. That shows that people who have played the game enjoy the game immensely. This poster is way off base and this post should definitely not be taken seriously.

This Rip Off report is 100% accurate.
They sold this software in a totally untested state because they had no more money left and had to try and raise money somehow. The product was never properly tested and they never allowed the people who ordered to even play test it to see what they were ordering. Now hardly anyone can even play the game because the servers are constantly down, and lots of bugs and crashes from not properly testing and fixing problems.
They knew exactly what shape it was in and that it was in no shape to be sold as it is but took orders anyway just to get enough money to try and save their sinking operation.

As a journalist in a well known Greek magazine I have seen the company, the managers and the developers of this game. I have visit their offices and I was amazed with the work these people do.
The product, the game, exists. I had the privilege to play it in beta test and it is great. I feel that the report of the "Mehem" is the scam, a hate or an antagonist play. So it must stop here.

My friends have played this game. My clan-mates have played this game. A search for Darkfall Online on YouTube reveals videos of other people playing this game. I have not played this game because it is sold out. Limiting the number of copies sold for a digital download - an inexhaustible commodity - doesn't sound like a very efficient scam strategy to me.
