My mother and father of Omaha, NE had work done from 1 Roof Pro, including their back deck and roof, as a result of hail damage. The deck was done with a color that did not match what was advertised by the company, so my father went and purchased the stain he wanted at Menards. The company then tried to say (months later) that they paid for the stain and are trying to collect money for that. They left the trim on the siding unpainted and removed the vent from the chimney and never replaced it. All of this was promised to be taken care of.

After the insurance came through, and everything was paid as per contract, the company tried to come back two months later and say that my mother owed another two grand. My mother just lost her husband, my father, and is under a great deal of stress, especially after dealing with a company who clearly has shady business ethics. The company will not sign a completion for the work because they expect an extra 20 percent from which she would potentially receive from the insurance company for high impact shingles.

She has already paid around $11,000 for the roof alone, and the deck was paid out of pocket. We are having someone come look at the shingles, because we suspect the shingles are not high impact as promised. On top of all of this, 1 Roof Pro claimed to never have gotten the insurance check, but when my mother checked her account, she saw the check had been cashed for some time. She had a lady from collections threatening to put a lien on the house, when the check had clearly already been cashed! This problem has soon been corrected by the company, but my mother still had to deal with thoughts of losing her home right after her husband died!

The neighbor down the street is 82 years old and he feels like he has been taken advantage by the same company and is filing a complaint soon as well. This is an clear example of why you should always be careful when making business deals with anyone. This complaint will not fall on deaf ears, and I will pursue this to the fullest if it comes to it. All I want and all she expects is to have the company cease to pursue any additional money from her and to sign completion of work (even if the work is not finished) so she can move forward with her life and take care of all the things she needs to.
